I think he just wants to get the second place and bring the car home. This event is so tricky and the risk of breaking the car is quite high.

RallyTV: Tänak commented the last stage went soft and broke very quickly.

Edit from Estonian press: Tänak - we took this morning easily, main goal is to bring the car to finish.

To me it makes sense for Ott to drive slowly. The Hyundai is fragile and at least finishing 2nd means he doesn't lose too many more points to Elfyn. If Ott were to retire, it would make a championship win very unlikely. He'll still pick up 3-5 points from Sunday (at least) so a very good result considering his car problems.
