So irish did raise more than 4mio for McErlean and at the end of 2025 Serderidis will spend more than 8mio for Munster.

Bull. The whole car costed close to a million with the uber expensive hybrid. Without that, it's around $500-600k.

One thing is price of the car. But another issue are running costs...

One hybrid unit was estimated around 150.000€, so don't know where did you get that numbers for the car without that. If that was the real price of the car, believe me, there weren't so much talk about reducing costs of the cars. And more importantly, wrc wouldn't lost the Citroen at the last WRC car era, since the cars are more or less similar in aero and tech aspects (only hybrid was added). Back then there weren't many privateentries either. Why? Probably because that aero package and space chassis was so expensive to repair that no one wouldn't want to go there.

So much 2025 rumoured private entries (or interest) are more or less now due to fact, that everyone wants to showcase themselves before 2027 season, because there is great potential that new teams could enter the sport. If that thing as coming, I don't know in 2030, no one would bother spending such amount of money for couple of events, or whole season. I believe that M-Sport is the cheapest to run, although that Hyundai doesn't even have a option to give the car to anyone else rather than their official lineup.

Top young drivers can showcase themselves in WRC2 cars and much more cheaply (relatively). There's really no need to spend the crazy sums on a Rally 1 drive, even though us fans like to see them.

Are you sure? Did you really recognized Gus, Pierre-Louis or Gregoire before their step up to Rally1? And I think it is same also with Martins and Sesks this year...

All motorsport progression is generally based on resources.

This is not unique for WRC, nor is it new.

Even unicorns like Max V, Lewis, Kalle came through with heavy investment....

Yeah but all of them showed something, so the investment was eligible. Investing in drivers like Stroll or here in this case with both M-Sport drivers is different case. They immediately skip many steps because of pure money.

Any driver is only able to 'show something' because the money existed to start with.

    Money, not horsepower, drives motorsport.

These are the exceptions that jumped into Rally1 simply through money and didnt have to excel in WRC2..

But the likes of Solberg, Rossel and Gryazin have done and will be on the radar for drives in the 2027 Cars, and ahead of those 'monied guys'.
