If I add spectating, servicing & timekeeping I've been involved with 33 of them since 1977 and 24 Nationals. I reckon I've spent around six months over there on rallies all told!

Ceredigion being held only a couple of weeks after the biggest rally of the championship year probably hasnt helped either.
I think you're right, and I very much doubt that Ceredigion can offer the kind of financial incentives that the Manx could in its glory days when they struggled to attract top level Eurpoeans. The Manx did get some Europeans over, lower down the entry list. Most of them came from Holland and Germany (competitors & marshals), usually people involved with the West Euro Cup. They also managed to get the French Citröen AX Cup competitors over in 1992 as their "foreign" event, so again not premier league.

RedGrey entering the cars of Creighton and Pearson would make no sense. In the BRC Teams Championship it's going to go down to the wire. Here's how it stands after the Grampian Forest Rally...

    1- M-Sport Ford Rally Team - 107
2 - Castrol Melvyn Evans Motorsport Rally Team - 104

I guess they are just paying for the ERC entry of these drivers. Do Teams get prize money if their cars finish high up in the results ?

Not so strong entry list has various reasons. It is close to the season end, so lot of drivers has stopped their participation in championship when they have no chance for good result. Most of the drivers has limited budget, there is only few who has budget for all races. Lot of them is going event by event and one crash can mean additional costs and reasons to miss the event. And gravel specialists like Heikkila or Sesks decided not to continue in tarmac part of season. Also calendar schedule is crazy for privateers, in fact in almost two months there were in a row Scandinavia-Estonia-Rome-Barum-Ceredigion. For lot of teams almost impossible to attend all of them. Also Ceredigion to be only two weeks after Barum doesnt help (deadline for entry including payment of entry fee was week before Barum). And another problem is brexit, so additional customs and lot of paperwork needs...

Regarding strange competitors at some drivers - dont find anything special like teams championship or non-existing prize money behind it. It is very simple - to have ERC1 priority, you need to pay registration (3555 euro). If you are registered to the championship as a team, you can nominate different drivers to the events. So for competitors doing only one rally it is easier to make agreement with some registered team which is not attending for some symbolical fee than pay 3555 euro for own registration. RedGrey is registered since Estonia, so they only used their previous registrations...

It’s rally week again and always love returning to the UK to compete. We have some good memories of Wales & Rally Ceredigion having won here two years ago. However with all but one of the stages being new this year, it means it is an even footing for everyone.

Wales is always special to us as this is also where we competed in our first Rally in Europe - Wales Rally GB in 2008 - 16 years ago ! We miss the gravel forest stages, however the unique narrow tarmac lane stages of Ceredigion provide equally the challenge.

Ingram is IN so im 100% happy. 19 entries is good enough for a rally up in the UK. not sure why theres no tons of local teams but its fine. go Ingram!

At least in the top class (Ral2) it's the lowest entry for any British round this year (been a relatively good year for BRC), so I'm guessing the entry costs must be a lot higher for this one? Not terrible numbers, but was hoping for a little more originally.
