Sauber's new team name unveiled after departure of Alfa Romeo as title sponsor
Sauber will be rebranded as Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber for the 2024 Formula 1 campaign, following the departure of their title sponsor Alfa Romeo.
The Swiss team will operate under this banner for the next two seasons before rebranding as Audi in 2026 when they become the German manufacturer’s works squad.
Stake joined Sauber as co-title partner for 2023 and will now level up the partnership as the sole title partner, including full naming rights of the operation.
Sauber also announced that streaming platform Kick have acquired the naming rights to the chassis of next year’s car, which will be known as the KICK Sauber C44.
“Sauber has always been about innovation, breaking the mould and defying convention,” said Sauber Motorsport Team Representative Alessandro Alunni Bravi.
“The partnership with Kick.com is the latest and boldest display of the philosophy that drives us. Kick.com is redefining the way live streaming is done and they will adopt the same disruptive approach in the world of Formula 1.
“With Kick.com, our goal is to make the next step in finding new and innovative ways to get closer to our fans.”
Sauber finished ninth in the constructors’ championship in 2023, three places down on where they ended the previous campaign.
They will continue to run Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu as their drivers through the upcoming campaign, with both drivers’ contract expiring at the end of the season.
