Time to get planning!
Apart from the Thursday night, it's another disappointing Monte itinerary. 32km on the final day, Turini in the day and run once.....
Sorry, but the Monte shouldn't be just another WRC event.
I don't know if other users have same problem but in Opera browser the link is shown as dangerous due to being reported by Phishtank however when I put directly http://www.planetemarcus.com/ into phistank it finds nothing. Do You have some way to check what's wrong?
It's not only bad. I hope the Col st. Roch itself is part of the power stage. For spectators that's a lot more entertaining place than Turini.
And if I can see right there is stage Bayons in the itinerary! That's this craziness which used to be run in the 90' :)

once again a ridiculous timing. 2 days with only 30km's, a day with 120km's and one day with 160km's of stage. if they would make it 2 days (saturday+sunday) + a ss on friday this could be a great rally. now its just retarded.
So who is going?
Do hire cars from lyon have snow tyres or do have to request them?
Tickets and a house near Gap booked two weeks ago. Planing to do Thursday - Saturday and not going south for the last 3 stages. We gonna rent a car from Bergamo as they have obligatory snow chains. So hope to see some of you on the stages.

I'm planning on going.
Flying from Australia to Paris, then to Nice but the schedules are tight. Arrive Monday leave Monday.
Uncertain if I'll be driving by my self or with work colleague so will have to suss out hotel and rental car too if I'm alone.
Keen on shakedown, ceremonial start and two stages a day.
I booked a hotel in seyne. It looks quiet close to 2nd night stage. Any one stay there before, will there be many fans staying in the area? First time in monte can't wait
Be careful because there is no road sings(for the stages),sometimes you are some meters away from the stage and you can't understand exactly where you are. Also the organizers don't care at all about the spectators and in some occasions they close the stage-access some km away from the stages,so have in mind that you may need to walk A LOT.This year my descent from the power stage to the car was accurately 1,5 hour.I don't want to disappoint you, just be prepared, maybe you are luckier than me.
Thanks for the info. Get there early seems to be the advice from everyone. 3 stages look possible on Saturday. Or should you just stick to 2. How is traffic between the stages
if you can watch 3 then do it.That's what i also did on saturday. The traffic is ok, i didn't face at all traffic jam.
Update Monte 2017 itinerary... Turini will run 2nd times now and switch as Power Stage http://bit.ly/2cknVEI
Interesting that they run Turini to Peira Cava. Maybe pity it's not reversed like in early IRC because that was the most spectacular variant of the pass over the Col.
Hi
We are looking at coming to our first Monte next yr and have a few questions.
Would you advise getting winter tyres 100% as I am struggling to find any hire car company that have them?
All I can get is snow chains!
I have never fitted snow chains are they hard and time consuming to fit?
Is it too cold to sleep in the car and are there places close to the stages to park car overnight?
Is it possible to park on the road after the stage finish overnight and walk in to the stage?
thanks
it's difficult to find winter tyres if you rent a car from south.if you want to stay to the car overnight a caravan could be the solution.
Hi,
me and my mate used to sleep in Renault 19 in 2008 Monte. It was ok, but there was practically no snow that year. With 50cm of snow everywhere and 1m snowbanks on the side of the road, or rain all weekend it would be a tough one.
Cold is not so big problem, you should have a good sleeping bag and over it you put all spare clothes you have... Midnight bathroom routine :) ... but standing on the top of Turini... priceless.
Try it, it is tricky, but at right age, an experience worth trying...
Sadly Turini isn't anymore what it used to be. After the return in WRC they enlarged the safety no-go zones and don't run it till midnight. The nights there in the short IRC era were great but now I would strongly prefer Col Saint Roch even though it's run uphill this year and it's not clear where the stage ends to me.
We can expect a proper Rallye Monte-Carlo conditions? Love Ford test conditions ;)
It looks like the M-Sport test was held on the stage Moutauban sur L'Ouvéze which was one of the most spectacular ones during IRC years. I think it was Ogier's home stage. I was spectating there in all IRC editions and have the best memories about it :)
Love that conditions, maybe i will tell something controversial, but if necessary start WRC in year before to garantee snow, i will agree :)

hi guys we are also going to Monte Carlo when do the maps go up on the rallymaps site we used these at Corsica this year and were fantastic!!
So to MC we will have:
1 Ogier/Ingrassia
2 Tänak/Järveoja
3 ???
4 Neuville/Gilsoul
5 Sordo/Martí
6 Paddon/Kennard
7 Meeke/Nagle
8 Breen/Martin
9 ???
10 Latvala/Anttila
11 Hänninen/Lindström
Can 3 be Camilli in Fiesta 2016 and 9 Lefebvre in DS3 2016?
During Rallye du Var Lefebvre did mention something about testing things out for Monte Carlo. He was there in a DS3 of course, so it could mean he will be there in the 2016 car. Or maybe he was just talking about broader preparations, like getting back into a rhythm with Gabin Moreau or something.
Unless they've made a decision internally to promote Breen to full-time #2 driver, I can't see them not picking Lefebvre on a French event.
Shame Citroen went so conservative on 2017 when most had the three cars already planned in. I don't know how discussions went, but it may have cost them a chance to get Ogier.
Can't wait for 10 years time when THE book comes out - I expect it will say that there was never a possibility that Ogier might go to Citroen. The smell of the burnt bridge was still heavy in the air and the guy with the matches was still in charge at 'l'equipe'.
Just wish I was going to the Monte this year but I'm already looking at tons of eventfulness in 2017 which means my annual leave allowance is severely tested.
Elfy Evans with Dmack?
clever move by Citroen, perhaps in the events until Corsica, each time, the 3rd driver will get to drive the DS3 so he'll have the experience of each event.
