So AL14,
If you disagree so much can you tell us what is your estimation about how much road position generates difference in following rallies between first and third driver (assuming standard conditions):
Mexico:
Finland:
Australia:
Turkey:
Sardinia:
Spain:
Chile:
Argentina:
Who cares? Ofc first on gravel could struggle an mostly does, but we will see what will happen, always have seen and always will see. Ogier in 2017 started first, finished second, only lost to Meeke with many-many place better starting position.
Claiming that points don`t mean anything, is stupid.
exactly, and Ogier was also second in Mexico 2017 when starting first.
What a rally! : D
It is clearly one of the best Rally Sweden that I have been to.
The pace in all classes is completely insane nowadays.
Some disappointments with drivers but at the same time many as impressive really big.
For example, Mikkelsen who was brutal in all places we saw him.
Latvala is always worth seeing but it was not his rally.
Others who are worth mentioning are Tom Kristiansson who kept his head cool and made everyone else make mistakes.
Really a smart driver I hope we will see a lot more from.
Dennis Rådström who was the fastest but unfortunately made a costly mistake.
Katsuta, who was a little bit everywhere, thinks he was in snowbanks in all places we saw him! ;)

Sweden 2019: "I am satisfied with the work done in Sweden despite seventh place"

" Hello everyone,
after a few days when I was finally able to cut after a start to the year with the Dakar, the Monte Carlo, the trials of Sweden and the Andros Trophy, I wanted to make a return on this second meeting with the entire Hyundai Motorsport team!
Of course to fight for sixth place throughout the rally did not happen often in my career, and I reassure you I always prefer to play the win, but personally, I think we did a good Rally Sweden with Danos when we take into account all the external elements.
We did not make any mistakes or exit and we did not encounter any technical problems with the car. Performance level, it was difficult during the first passages but in the second laps, we managed to play in front by signing second and third time.
It was six years since we had not put the wheels in Sweden and we discovered the set of specials unlike our opponents who run for three or four years. In addition, the preparation of the rallies has really changed. Today, pilots work a lot of videos from previous years and even those of others! It's new to have access to all the on-board cameras of other pilots.
I never worked the videos before the rallies but only after the recos. Watching the videos of another pilot, with his system of notes, never spoke to me. But this must obviously pay when we see the pace adopted by the 'young' from the first pass. It is almost a typical preparation 'circuit' and they roll to 'by heart'! I am still in the generation of 'improvisation'. This does not detract from their performance, it really rolls very fast in front, but it's just a different approach and preparation than the one I've always known.
Then we had only 200 kilometers of snow tests with the car. It was also our first few kilometers with the i20 WRC Cup in 'land' configuration. I must say that I am really satisfied. The feeling is good, even better than on the asphalt for now. She is well balanced and I feel comfortable driving her. Of course, I would need more running to exploit it fully but the beginnings are promising.
In terms of performance, Thierry proves that she is in the game. We all agree that the Toyota is still a step up in general, especially at the aero level. With the compact chassis of the Yaris, the masses are hyper centered and they have a good base. So we must continue to work to gain even more performance but we do not start very far either.
My next meeting will be the Tour de Corse and a day of asphalt testing is planned in March. It will take maximum advantage of this test to arrive in better conditions than the first two rounds. With Danos, we would like to sign a nice result there!
See you soon,
Seb »
