A quite strange and somewhat disappointing rally.

Starting with a puncture lottery. And pretty much losing half of the Rally1 drivers from contention on Day 1 was dramatic but really a big shame.

Then all the talk of coming heavy rain and a massive turnaround that never came and didnt happen.

But at least we had Paddon on the podium and a great recovery drive by Fourmaux. Hyundai showed they can still be effective.

A 10 point loss of Evans lead to Pajari was all he deserved from a rally where he never had a good spell. Pajari definitely has all the momentum and Evans must be concerned.

I loved what I saw of it but I'm unlikely to remember it. That's no fault of the rally.

That's why I said before the rally, having those 7 consecutive gravel events without a break is tough...and before you say, "but Neuville won it in '24", he had the different scoring system which he took advantage of, this year he's 7th....not quite what you'd expect from a world champion.
Back to the conversation, huge congrats, I'd never write him as a championship contender at the start of the season but he's turned out to be quite a championship challenge(r). Really glad to see though both Hyundais on the podium for the FIRST TIME this season. Wish we'd seen that since the start of the year and the championship would've looked quite different. With each passing event I can't help but feel I'm really gonna miss these WRC+ machines we've had since 2017, yes they had their highs and lows but ultimately, they were quite spectacular and I do hope we get to see something like this in the future. As for the rally as a rally, definitely would let it go for next year and keep Chile instead but it is what it is. We still need to find if we have a 14th round this year and if we do, then where?
