WRC mainclass from 2027

They all lie. FIA is desperate and that's because they missed the opportunity to do it right this time. Even that little interest, which they got, probably left the train.

I mean how could anyone commit, or even trust that the future will be better, or that actually it would happen in first place if there is so much trouble even to keep it on track. And that's even before everything starts. I wouldn't put money in it on a blind. Maybe manufacturers want stability first and clearly WRC isn't on the right path.

Clearly this kit is another fail from whoever put that out. And I don't believe that it was this idea circling around for a while. Nobody is that quiet and sooner it would came out. And it was complete surprise to announce it as there was completely different news expecting to came out after the WMSC meeting. That news who everyone expect to fix the issue of 2-3 brands and their future in WRC, and maybe by some wishful thinking something new and fresh. No, it didn't happen and probably won't.

what he means with "if the majority believes its the right solution"...??? WHICH MAJORITY? Skoda, Lancia, (Citroen?) and probably hyundai said "NOPE". i dont even understand if toyota is doing the kits for some of the R5s owners...

Toyota confirmed that they are not developing the kit and focus on WRC27 instead.

It's currently only M-Sport developing the kit (or saying they do, to be exact).

Deephouse got it right in my oppinion. It's all a lie. The lie is them saying it's all to grow the championship.

It's not, it's to desperately hold together a failing world championship

im going to just wait for 2027... not reading or comenting anymore regarding 2027 (or at least im gonna try! haha). for now im going to keep my focus on ERC, which has been my favorite since that 2019 season...and thats it.

Would'nt you guys think that the vote was for or against the kit ... without mentionning the obligation to enter all rounds (and pay for it) to get homologation ? If the question was solely "do you agree to a 7.5k$ kit to get your cars competitive against the new cars", then I would guess everyone (a "vast majority") would agree ...

Could be, but that would've been rather disingenuous. Having said that there's no such thing as a cheap solution in WRC, plus it's way of getting some commitment to the Championship.

Don't forget that these WRC27 were designed to be on the same level as Rally2 cars, per FIA. So there shouldn't be a need for any kit to make them competitive.

Imo the kit has purely 2 goals: 1) to make Rally2 manus to commit full season ala current Rally1 manus; and 2) to force manus, who wanted to keep just Rally2 in the future and use them in WRC, to make WRC27 by effectively banning Rally2s in WRC1. Oh and to make them look better on TV, but that's not really important in the big picture

Kind of irrelevant IMO. If they had intentions of fighting for the constructors/manufacturers, then they should have expected full season commitment - unless they had been told that a 30 year long norm had changed.

Fowler gently burning the joke of a "kit":

“Bringing a third possible option in between those two cars six months out from the start of the season is not sensible when we’re committed to a certain development path. Unfortunately, there will be some people that are thinking they want to convert their [GR Yaris] Rally2 with a kit to be included in RC1. But, honestly speaking, I think it’s quite a limited market.”
 
We all know it will be. Toyota already started building chassis 001. Project Rally One didn't start testing and they said they are looking for investment (more or less if some manufacturer will support them), so it's a great chance that it will stay like this - in a garage. RMC will come in the middle of 2027. Nobody else don't even bother to start working on it or are not interested. If there would be really interest, they would't be quiet or someone would spot something already if we go into thinking that "some projects" are being made secretly. And even if FIA would publish today clearly who take over promoter rights and made things clear, there is not enough time to start working straight away, even if the car will have many similarities with Rally2 car. Even Toyota struggled with that, and how could other with significantly less budget and resources could done it faster and better?

If all really wanted to avoid Toyota cup, there is only one and most simple way to do it, but Icm afraid it's too late. Toyota already "almost delivering" cars means that they would be very angry if FIA would postpone everything, so others could catch up. I don't know, maybe they would be upset or not. But even if they would do that, Toyota already are basicaly way ahead of everybody else. We sadly at the end couldn't avoid Toyota dominance at all.

Doesn't that depend on the balance of performance between it and Rally2? Then that's down to the FIA who won't want Rally2 to win.

I am with Hyundai with the WRC27, the 27s will be superior already through the different suspension. Would be very, very surprised if some Rally2 is quicker over a season (maybe possible in a single rally)
 
They will win it exclusively just if guys from Toyota will hit the troubles and not the speed. But with 6 cars on field there is great chance that WRC27 Toyota will win all events, or the most of it. Further through the year, development will be done and Rally2 will not stand a chance.

Except if WRC27 car is slower and Toyota knows that and will try to beat them by "creating" some challenge to themselves.
