WRC mainclass from 2027

Building their own engine against manufacturers is also such a great situation to be in. Then you are not only down on the chassis side, you are also down on power

I dont see a "Porsche" hehe (look the reat window, the front gril, the lower headlights. Which car is that? I mean, I know its not a road car, but does it reminds you something? Like the C4?)
Names around this project are: Hansen, Yves Matton (Citroen), Prospeed is involved (they are building the thing? They are from Belgium and have conection with Porsche AG in GT racing), Alain Penasse (former Hyundai wrc team manager, Jean Claude Vaucard (former Peugeot sport chief engineer, also worked with Citroen in WTCC). Lets find out who these fellas started following on IG haha
Since we found that Nasser Al Attyah may be behind the WRT SPain that way

It would be so funny if Porsche sends them a cease and desist when the first pictures of this car hitting a tree goes viral.

Honestly, are they even allowed to do this? Blatantly using the likeness of the Cayenne?

They've got to make them commercially available so no, they're not building a lookalike without Porsche permission.

They could have Porsche cooperation to build a Porsche, but not the financial support to compete in WRC.

As said previously, Porsche are financially in deep deep shit.

If there was a connection they would shout this from the high heavens, since this gives a lot of legitimacy to the project. There was so far not even a rumor about official Porsche support if I did not miss it.

From what we know this is still just garage "tuner" (exaggerated) without manufacturer suppport

Do they? I did not hear any news regarding this (might have missed it). It looks kind of like a Porsche, true, but so far no official coorporation was announced.

They could very well just build their spaceframe to look like one to attract manufacturer support. They are a new team in a niche sport, Posche most likely does not even know they exist yet

They are as far as I know, but that is a long shot from Porsche supplying funding / material and especially their brand. Corpos tend to be very protective about their brand

they are using skoda parts so i always imagine theres a link somewhere, since its all vw (porsche, skoda, vw, cupra etc), but who knowssss

Prospeed delivered the Porsche R-GTs into rallying. They also ran the official Porsche racing team somewhere and have been building many new racing cars for many years. The whole business revolves around Porsche. The only thing new is WRC27 and the side project that is Project Rally One.

It's not unusual for manufacturers to contract out or be approached by others for special builds. Happens a lot.

Stick a license fee on each build and they get easy money as well as any promo in motorsport, just have to be involved in the paperwork. That's where it gets complex. Especially so because these are non-production road legal cars.

if i had the money i'd build a mini cooper but using my team's logo on the front bumper, screw it. wouldnt even ask permission.

If you did just one for yourself you'd be fine. The difference is forming a company to build many and making profit the motivation for doing it.
