WRC mainclass from 2027

Totally agree. If they actually will change regs for future they should do it now and not in 2031 as they usually do.
 
Yeah, that's the point. If Promoter takes WRC on a totally different point of view commercially and create a stable and ROI-friendly series, the teams will come easily, because their return of investment will be predictable and potentially profitable. Timing is crucial when it's about to do proposals to the Boards and get the budgets.

Manufacturers have loads of money, but they need to be worth to be spent. Otherwise they'll just leave or not enter at all.
 
What should they do it immediately and I mean now and not until the last moment is to finalize short term solutions, as many claim that regs still aren't finalized. Sporting regulations should be out, if that's too hard, keep them from this year and move on next year, if they want to change things. Promoter can implement things during season and it doesn't need to wait until season is over to introduce changes.

Then after everything would be clear, move on in middle term solutions and long time and as soon as possible, actually present this to potential teams or world, as I guess they talk only to those who are members in FIA comitee. Maybe it will encourage some new blood to join.

After all I wonder, if those people who work on this projects when they have meetings, how many of those they have? One in a few months? It's crucial to present stability and not just throwing out random things that some co-driver from 19th century and Ben agreed on.
 
It totally makes sense, as GR badge already is avaliable across many their models, and Toyota recently teasing with new sports coupes, the timing for promote that segment is logical. Glad is not some sort of Hilux or other Rav4 based model.

“In principle, using an existing Rally2 engine is an obvious route, but the reality is that the manufacturers producing these engines are not currently set up to supply independent constructors with the number of units that a program like this requires,” the team explained.

Are they not set up or not willing to be set up?

Idk, imo the 2 year transition period could be better long term. It was kinda same in WEC, even more hectic and not planned, and it worked, so...

Dont want to Spoil anything but it looks like theres 3 Nasser Al Attyah's racing programs accounts following WRT on their recent created Instagram. His team works with those Taurus M3 Max in RallyRaid competition, where they sell and rent (including with full support) these buggys. They use Volkswagen 1.0 TSI engines (Polo, Golf. EA211), 3 cylinder too. They also make money with a training camp (driving) or something like that.
Cupra (VW Group) is Spanish, right? Nasser raced with Cupra in that Extreme-E thing.

hmmm couldnt find three, just two. someone said on fb a gearbox manufacturer linked to cupra is also following them, but no names were mentioned.

Let's not forget that they got full backing from Spanish Federation and Spain's Government. If needed, I don't think they will have issues getting a 4-5 million sponsorship from Repsol (which is probably 2 hours revenues per year for them lol).
 
and tbf i kinda like this thing pr1 and this 'cupra-nasser-spanish' team will have to do in 2027. they will not enter every round.
we need more entries asap, but at the same time its cool when teams that are building car come and just do a few rounds, testing their cars.
i hope they allow R5s for overall - and i hope even more that these R5s can actually compete against the new rally1s and rally2+

Seems weird. I doubt any of the current rally2 manufacturers has problems supplying them with a few dozen engines. Skoda must build like a hundered or more every year.
 
Consider the cost cap and these new cars are taking customers away from Skoda, then Skoda can charge a silly amount versus what Team Spain can do in house.
