Reduced/consolidated subject areas

Even the forum clock is now correct!

I hope these improvements encourage some lapsed members back and encourage some new posters to join.
 
Couple of hours work eh. Looking at changing the forum software too, which is not ideal but this is ancient and not compatible with any modern OS.
 
Seems the Mobile style option has gone... not happy at all as I use the forum 99% of the time on my phone. :(
 
To say the truth, I am afraid of every change of software. Because usually it is changing to hyper-modern systems with responsive resolutions which works on mobiles, but on computer it is usually much worse...

If anyone wants to check the new software the pre-production forum is here http://51.68.35.138/index.php

Note it has literally just finished import so there's no styling or anything. You should be able to login with your existing password but I am not expecting reset emails to work yet. Feel free to post but whatever you do will get deleted in the real transfer.

Seems quite snappy initially.

Now it is working. But I still like the older version more. The new one looks for me... ...too colorful? Too big letters? But for sure this is suitable mainly for mobiles... But what I am missing the most - button with link to the latest unread message in each thread. I see only "jump to new" button when I am directly in the thread. And I also think it is not necessary to have there icon of person who has made the thread, same like date and name.

And Spam-o-matic will works there?

Yes all solid points and the styling is what is going to take the time rather than the databases and webservers etc. There is a good single click to delete Spam system and a better system to stop them registering in the first place.

Assuming you are looking at the desktop version I have made some tweaks and it looks closer to this forum now.
 
How modern will the refreshed forum be? Is it going to be the latest software?

I'm not too fussed, but maybe there is room and demand for a dedicated Rallycross forum? I guess Rally Raid and Baja can go in international rallying for the amount of posts it gets.

Yes it's the latest available in XenForo which is actually written by the same people who wrote this forum so it's more like a modern version that a complete change. You can join the test forum here. http://51.68.35.138/index.php
 
Hi Mark

The new forum looks great (on Desktop) but on my phone the text is really small. Can this be changed ?
