Rally2 (ex-R5) News

... but this new Ypsilon isn't very beautiful...

IMO of the Rally2 road cars, only the 3-door Fiesta ST has been. And it was a great car to drive too.

The Ypsilon does at least have an HF version (although EV) with 280PS. I think the Rally2 car looks ok, especially with the HF Integrale livery.

is there any yt channel or so with some highlights from this championship?
im always curious about stuff like that. the middle east championship sounds almost like an interesting thing to follow via some 10min highlights per event or so. no idea if such thing exists.
aussie and nz do a good work on their coverage no yt.

Today Ford Fiesta Rally2 wins Rally Croatia and is second in the overal standings of the European Rally Championship. Who said it's a bad car? ;)

Yeah... where's the guy on here who said Armstrong is wasting his career in the M-Sport Fiesta !? :D

Think the results can convince M-Sport and Ford to push ahead with the Puma Rally 2, regardless of what happens in WRC.

Rich Millener already said the Puma wasnt suitable for a Rally2 Car. Plus Ford is making the Mk2 Puma EV-only so wont want an ICE rally car for years to come.

A WRC2027 'Puma' with a spaceframe chassis is the most likely.

i'd argue "FORD" dont care about rallying anymore.
for 27' the new cars need to be "R5s but on tubeframe chassis", right? so msport CAN still sell fiestas R5 and they probably can build pumas (or what else ford my have??) if they "stick" with ford (at least via this type of ""indirect"" partnership).

Fiestas are dead (for now at least). M-Sport will have to replace them soon if they intend on continuing Rally 2 involvement. Millener himself had stated that they were working in a Puma Rally 2. Since Ford has confirmed that they will bring back a B segment car in the near future, that platform could be the vehicle of choice.

On the Fiesta... they mentioned on RallyTV that it had some upgrades for Armstrong and Jurgensson. It would be interesting to know what they were and if they made the difference.

If so, M-Sport might get some good business from all their Fietsa Rally2 owners and might even get another competitive year out of it in 2026.

They are working also on another upgrades for next year...

Recent results by Armstrong and Jurgensson prove the Fiesta can still be very competitive. But this has only been on tarmac and in official M-Sport developed cars.

TBH I cant see this making an increase in sales of the Rally2 Fiesta. But the upgrades may be popular on existing cars.
