Promoter news and rumours

Are they never did press conferences before? Aren't they prepared for that kind of questions? As they give absolutely no answers to those three specific related country questions, they could easily give random no answers to too good questions. If they don't want that they should just have conferences without Q/A part.

I know there is a challenge ahead of them, but hiding their exact plans while Benny said they were in talks for a year and a half amd that they personally came to his house to discuss things. And most importantly they share the same visions, stuff and agree on things. Then I don't see a reason to not share it amongst the WRC world, except they don't have absolutely anything, which with this whole keeping their mouth shut is more or less likely the case.

As of those "exclusive things", I recently didn't see any worth news or article to pay for or being only published by one company. Autosport and Motorsport barely publish anything, then there is some local ones, who do things by rumours, Autohebdo publish something and there is official DirtFish and at the last the one with most worth reading is RallyJournal. So I don't see any issue as sadly in WRC nothing is revealed exclusively.
 
yes but you guys got my point. if the sunday stage thing is a failure, is really quick to solve. they couldnt change the points structure in the middle of the thing (after 4 rounds, where some drivers choosed to run different on sundays because the point systems)... the hybrids couldnt be removed quicker because part of the contract with the hybrid manufacturer... etc

The presser wasn't really to tell us anything new about WRC. It was the first official chance to bring together the three chaps and the media in one room. But everybody digested the news already and already moved on and expected more.

Coming back to the Rallyfish foresight, and I don't know who, what or where Rallyfish is, but was this streamed live or was it held a few days ago with Fishy being in the room?

I believe it was in the agreement that repairs and maintenance were additional costs to the basic provision, and the rate at which repairs were necessary meant it was cheaper to pay them off at the basic rate for the remainder of the contract. I don't beleive they had three individual contracts with each of the teams and it was costing the Promoter/FIA far too much. Hybrid, like sustainable fuel, was a FIA sustainability goal tick box, not something the teams gave shits about.

Thank you and it's along time ago but I actually remember that M-Sport had an interview where the rising hybrid costs were mentioned as a big problem (I might remember wrong though)
 
They're just mouthpieces at the end of the day, treating people like idiots is what a circus does. It's why I don't trust anybody or what they say.
 
Honestly this whole promoter thing is off to a bad start already. Can't you ... already start promoting? The internet should be filled with articles about the bright future of the WRC and there should be whole youtube / twitch channels dedicated to exactly that
 
I think now they're building the structure and developing each department of their project.

Eventually, when you start a company, you hire staff, prepare the product and eventually you'll sell it to customer. They've just started, let's give them some time.
 
Yes time will tell. But unfortunately there is nothing hopeful about this promoter as it stands.

Most are asking what can Cosmobolis do for WRC? The better question for now is what can Cosmobolis take from WRC?

The answer is they need OEM mobility manufacturers in their championship and they will sell our data to them and try to sell us their cars.

But manufacturers are not coming to WRC despite all the 'social media' bollocks and format shite that already existed presented as revolutionary.

But I give the constructors 2 years. Project One and The Spanish will be ass raped if the promoter encourages 2029 regs with a 25,000 requirement.

Then what will we have in 2032? Toyota vs Link & Co. Um....

But let's see.
 
Again nothing hard to figure out, but in another discussion I laid out that the WRC is not really interested into the tuners. This concept is exclusively created to create a starting point for manufacturers to hop on (invest in the tuner). Good luck with that I would say
 
They're definitely interested in them to get them out the shit, to carry out the next couple of years. 2/3 of announced WRC27 teams are 'tuners'. And we have a promoter who gives the impression we don't need them?

And then possibly the new promoter cuts a deal to bankroll a brand or two for a couple of years to attempt to prove the concept. Then what? MINI all over again.

The whole rally racing sport has no future with mobility cars and mobility manufacturers. It's not even the current WRC gold standard. Cut the constructors out and you kill the world championship and make the sport a historics series. But we digress.
 
They seem more like a necessary evil for them to get manufacturers involved - no more.

If I did not miss it, tuners were mentioned 0 times in the youtube video

They de-activated comments on the video. This is such a bad move. The press was a bad move. People think too "Corporate". If they were sincere and open, we would be super excited about it. I remember when FIM Super Enduro got a new promoter, people on FB asking stuff and they answered so honest, even stuff regarding KTM lobbying the previous promoter not to accept e-bikes. They said they knew about that but they would accept e-bikes from now on. Then people complained and they answered like "Bro, chill. Its just one team with two bikes. The other 40 bikes are all 2 amd 4 strokes, stop crying". LOVELY.

There will be an arena WITHIN the final stage, where people can have services and festival atmosphere. It doesn't automatically mean it's gonna be a 2km mickey mouse stage. The final Red Barn arena it's an arena, BUT within a 10km stage. Which IMHO is fair enough, 'cause it gives sponsors exposure, space for hospitalities, etc., while keeping it a proper stage to enjoy.

Having read the transcript (rather, news piece on wrc.com), I think this is what they mean as they specifically quoted example from Estonia and Finland this year. Those had one, proper long stage run twice and that was whole Sunday. That is way better than my initial fear of mickey mouse arena SSS (I freely admit that I have zero confidence on powers that be and that was my first thought when I heard term arena).

On top of that I fully think that sunday points for such short distances should absolutely be scrapped, especially given that latter run over that stage will already net PS points. Grant one or the other but not both.
