I guess those who blast my photographic memory should see what I see and remember what I remember.

In 1958, Tony Bettenhausen won the National Title and in 1978 Tom Sneva won the National Title, both in USAC. They both accomplished something that only they did outright while winning their title?
 
Who was the first woman to flip a stock car in the State of Texas (based on newspaper articles of the period), what year, and what track?

Hardwood Door #35 Kurtis 4000D Offy 6 races
Jones & Maley #33 Epperly Offy Indianapolis
John Zink #5 Watson Offy 6 races

Tom did in the PC6 Cosworth #1

Actually it is easy if you were there. Some questions are easy if you know the sport. Like this:

The most wins in a National Champion season by a driver is 10. It was done twice, who did it and what years?
 
OK then, lets go with a true test of driving skill.

There used to be National Championship events in Indianapolis:
The 500 at the Speedway, a road race at Indianapolis Raceway Park and the Hoosier Hundred at the Fairgrounds dirt oval.

Who is the only person to win all 3 races in the same year?

I am by no means promoting cheating, and I'm sure there are enough honourable folks here to abide by the rules of this thread to keep it interesting, but I am promoting this site as the definitive place to go regarding AAA, USAC, CART, CC and IRL stats. It's where I go to settle bets! :)

I love these "purely from memory" questions. I knew Tom Sneva didn't win in '78. That was part of the reason Roger Penske replaced him... along with being difficult to work with and Bobby Unser becoming available. Tom used to have some real disagreements with George Bignotti while with the Bignotti-Cotter team, but I was a huge Sneva fan in spite of it all.

I'm no Donald Davidson (who is?), but I can name every winner of the 500.

a total guess would be Janet Guthrie at Texas World in 1976...... but I suspect that is not right

Single race. It was later than that in a Kuzma that was built in 1951 and Foyt raced it at one point.


Here is another won Jim Clark won one race in a Lotus 29 at Milwaukee in 1963. In 1964 the Lotus 34 won two races with Parnelli. In 1965 Jimmy won the 500 in a 38 and A.J. won the Trenton 150, 200 and the Phoenix 200.

There is one more win for a Lotus after 1965, who won it, where, what year and what model?

Another gem in 1962 Bill Forbes was delivered a brand new Watson Offy Roadster. That car made the 500 from 1962 through 1965. What did it accomplish that no other car did in only 4 appearances?
