Hyundai WRT

He is talking like he is having no other options than Hyundai customer rally2 programme. Of course Toyota are too crowded already, M-Sport will contest full 14 rounds and they could field more than 2 cars, and I think he was better in M-Sport than Hyundai. Then there is Tom Martin which will have Toyota, Project Rally One, RMC or pursue half season with Lancia, Skoda? and half with teams I mentioned earlier. Who says he needs to stay loyal to brand, which doesn't even know what to do and are late to the party every single time. I wouldn't wait if I were him, because the seats are I think even more crucial for next year.

Paddon opens up about the 2017 spectator death:

I am just sorry for him and angry about the FIA and especially Hyundai. If you watch it you will know

Look for the chapters in the timeline. I've no idea who has 2 hours for any pod, and how the likes of Joe Rogan get so many viewers boggles the mind.

I only watched that part from 2017 fatal crash. He is talking that he put away this for 8 years, trying to forget, and run from this situation. When Hyundai offer him part time and Monte was in it, he alsmost say no, because everything suddenly came back. But he eventually go on. It was 6 months to prepare, when he got offer, and he say he didn't sleep for 6 months. When Monte came he got panic attacks and somehow he overcome those and deal with situation. Also he didn't care about result and just wanted to finish. He then realized that he needs to deal with problems, not run away. Also he mentioned that at that time when crash happened, he didn't have any support from team, but also says that back then there was completely different people in the team. Also he is talking about pressure from team to replace John (his long-time co-driver). He is talking about this opportunity he got after so many years and loyalty to the brand. He simply send an email and expected nothing (as he mentioned that in this sport you almost everytime you got rejections and no's), and he was surprised next day when Hyundai did actually offer him 3-4 rallies.

Emphasizing:

- No help from the team at all, just send home with a "Deal with it" and then later on they forced him to replace his co-driver. Both has "Adamo" written in bit red letters on it (my error, Adamo was not yet team principle)

- No help from FIA & incident swept under the rug from said FIA

Mind you this was before Adamo, if I recall correctly it was Nandan.

great summary, but I believe it was just 6 weeks before MC, not months

And yet several drivers have been pretty happy there and were/are keen to drive for them or to return there.

Fourmaux has thrived despite many saying it was a bad move, Tanak went back there from M-Sport, Sordo has never had a problem, Breen seemed to enjoy himself there, Lappi has been back there after saying he was done, Suninen was keen to return and Munster was desperate to get a seat there...

Sorry, my bad. I almost fall asleep when I watch that, and mix that up hh.

As for people liking that team. As there is also a fact that there is no real option left. Toyota already too crowded, M-Sport doesn't take high paying drivers. Believe me if the field would have 4-5 teams I think that even Neuville would alreda left them.

Possibly, but apart from this case with Paddon (and I think how he reacted is a bit unusal) the only other with an issue there was young Solberg (who was maybe not ready for that level).

And since Adamo left this is a quite different team and the culture seems far less intense.

I actually enjoyed the Adamo era. It was intense, but he has said that his only goal is to win. He does everything towards winning and wants the same effort from all the team members. We had progress during his era and without Covid the team might have been a worthy opponent to Toyota. Also we can't forget the manufacturers titles.

At first Abiteboul seemed to be a leader, who would be able to turn things around. Unfortunately this has not happened and currently Wheatley is just a diplomatic spokesperson and that's it.

I understand there aren't any decisions from above and the whole team is just working to keep the team running. Still this is just sad as Toyota keeps improving and Hyundai is simply stagnating.

This is a fair point but a different argument as to whether they were/are a tough team to drive for.

Liaison Episode 9 from Estonia, I wonder what the crews already know regarding their seats for next year...
