Well practice and qualification is over folks. I don't want to mention any spoilers for those watching late, but it's looking like it has every possibility to be another great race with multiple cars in the mix.

I'm looking forward to the race.
 
I didn't think Lando was going to win it since the Ferrari's looked so feisty and Max, even with his complaints, was always close, but he and the team did it.
I am loving how well Isack is doing in the other RB.
 
Overall another banger of a race. It kept us all guessing up until it was clear Lando had real pace out front. But even then the rest of the pack and strategy was still in the picture.

With all the young talent in the field, and some of the mid pack cars strong, there is always something to watch.

I do wonder what we saw there. Was it a real step forward for McLaren and we can expect them to be able to fight for the rest of the season.

Or is this the leapfrog development race and Merc will bring a package to Zandvoort and be back on top?

I'm hoping it means an interesting second half of the season.
 
Hard to say, but I think the other teams are in fact creeping up some on Mercedes. And the AM had nowhere to go but up, and it did. Once the engine comes good (and I think it will) it might be a car worthy of having Alonso sitting in it.

But let's be realistic even if Newey is now on the right track he has lost, 6 months, a year? To his rivals.

Mind you if that dog of a car and engine after one upgrade can be beating Team Vowles shows how far Williams have fallen.

I read the new engine should be worth 3/4 second.

Add that to the often quoted 6/10ths of Alonso driving it and it might be a quick car!

But yeah, they lost a lot of time. But Newey is rarely spot on at first, it takes him time. And for the sake of Alonso, I hope not too much time. It's a shame they can't just clone Stroll and make both of them drive the crappy car until it starts improving.
