[ERC] Rally Poland - Rajd Polski 2026

Overshoot at a junction by Creighton. He cant afford these mistakes, it cost him 4 places.

E. And now slow again on the next one, 10s off the pace. He should be doing better the British Champion.

which other sport on this planet has stuff like this?

These modern plastic cars are useless. Back in the 1970's when Mk1 Escorts had steel extended wheelarches a crowd of that many people could have picked the car up and carried it out of the ditch. Didn't work quite so well with the fibreglass wheelarch extensions though. Pulled a few of them off the car back then!

"An ambulance was on the scene. Both crew members were out of the car and did not have serious injuries. The navigator complained of leg pain, the crew will be taken to the hospital for examination," the spectators present reported on social media.
That was good to hear as it was a big hit with a sudden stop.

Judging from Dominik Stritesky's statement on Facebook, not everything is right with his health:

"My ideas about the 2026 Rally Polski looked completely different. Although Friday's qualifying was extremely successful, right at the beginning of Saturday's stage I made a driving mistake that resulted in an unpleasant accident. The racing equipment is destroyed, but Ondra and I are alive thanks to the safety features. That's the most important thing! I won't lie to you - it hurts. And it will for a long time. Now I have a longer race ahead of me, during which I will be more friends with the doctors. But I believe that I will get back behind the wheel of a racing car as soon as possible! Thank you all for the encouraging messages and at the same time I apologize to those I disappointed.Special thanks go to the crew of Miko Marczyk and Szymon Gospodarczyk, who took care of us until the rescuers arrived. And I can't forget to mention the great work of the organizers and rescue services."

The event seemed pretty good and liked by the competitors. However it was quite similar to Barum and even Ceredigion in places, so not really an addition the ERC needed. But I guess the move to tarmac couldnt be helped.

I enjoyed it though, but more for the battles and the return of Kajto. The first ever ERC win for Suninen was a surprise too and first podium for Matulka was good to see.
