2026 WRC News & Rumours

Also Bahrain and Qatar rounds of WEC will be replaced by Barcelona and Monza. But you can hardly spawn a replacement rally for Saudi Arabia out of nowhere.
Happening in the weeks around Rally Saudi Arabia are Valais, Lausitz, Var, Monza, and maybe Spa, as known international rallies. But I think if they can't run Saudi Arabia, we would just have one round less.
 
Tom Fowler on Ogier going forward says his car and entry remain for Paraguay...

Idk if there will be any replacement tbh. Afterall we already had this discussion at the start of the season when Rally Hungary got cancelled.

As I understand it the Bahrain Grand Prix will still run, just in Malaysia. Maybe Rally Saudi Arabia goes ahead in one of those locations! I think dropping a round is more likely.

If only the FIA/Promoter would’ve implemented the same tactic of having a back-up rally like they did in 2021, then we’d might’ve gotten Ypres or…Turkey or… Corisca? to run as a season finale, shame, it would’ve nice to see them back to mainland Europe for the final final time/round (until someone will do a U-Turn and bring back amazing cars for 2032 or something).
 
It's much much easier to hold replacement F1 race than organise a last minute rally, more so when most of the money will still come from the oil countries that was originally supposed to organise the event. Saudi, Qatar and UAE GPs will be most likely replaced too, simply because it's too expensive for F1 to scrap the events.
 
Toyota has all but settled the Constructors and Elfyn is the heads on favorite for the Driver's title. I would think if both are settled by Sardegna, WRC will call the season off. Giving an extra month of testing for the new cars will be more important.

Hi guys,

I just came back from my first-ever Rally Finland, and I need to share my thoughts and memories with someone, so I chose this forum.

I had always wanted to visit Rally Finland, and it definitely didn't disappoint. The atmosphere on the stages, the flat-out corners, the incredible speed, Rally City Jyväskylä... it was everything I had hoped for and more.

One thing I had also always wanted to witness was someone making a mistake. I've been to many WRC events before, including Portugal and Sweden, but I'd never actually seen anyone crash or go off the road.

This weekend was completely different.

On Saturday morning, I heard about Sesks' crash and went there afterwards to see the car and the damage. I thought that would be the only dramatic moment I'd experience that weekend, especially after seeing Colin Clark interview Mārtiņš right after the crash.

Then Saturday afternoon came. We picked a completely random spot with no planning at all. We were in a hurry, so we parked the car somewhere and walked through a random forest path, ending up at a place that didn't even seem very interesting to us. Still, we all had this weird feeling that something might happen there.

And then... Seb went off the road right in front of our eyes.

I still can't believe it. The car, with both the driver and co-driver inside, flew through the forest and took down several trees. A stage marshal and I were the first ones to go and check if the crew was okay.

I honestly can't explain how strange it feels to witness something like that in real life. And seeing that Seb wasn't feeling very well afterwards makes the memory even more difficult to process. Also, Seb is 9x time WC and rarely makes mistakes when leading by 20 seconds.

Saturday is a day I'll always remember. I'm just not sure whether in a good way or a bad way.

Simply an unforgettable experience, which is still difficult believing to for me.
