2026 WRC News & Rumours

my favorite AI post was a few years ago. an article saying evans would leave wrc to focus on his UFC campaign. i think the article was about an open seat at toyota for the next season (maybe 2024, i dont remember)

Petter Solberg @Petter_Solberg

!!! Don’t believe everything you read online! 👀 There are so many fake news pages using AI pictures on social media now sharing completely fake stories - including ‘WRC Rally Astralis’, ‘WRC Racing Track’, ‘Gravel Kings’ and ‘WRC Apex Hunters’ !!!

Please unfollow them - everything on those pages is completely made up, and a lot of it is harmful! For anyone who has seen any of those pages recently: no, Pernilla is not unwell and Oliver isn’t retiring at the end of the season… it’s all just lies to get attention, so please don’t give them any.

If in doubt, always check official driver, team, WRC and known media accounts to verify if something is true. Thank you.

Good morning, I don't know if you read this but I find Sainz's idea for Formula 1 amazing and it could easily be applied to the wrc. 14 races and the drivers will do 2-3 or as many as they need depending on each team.

2-3 out of 14? that sounds odd to say the least, in other news, WMSC have a meeting today, I am curious if will get any sort of news for next year be it the promoter or the calendar or anything really.

Just Sainz venting about the Williams being crap. It would probably work better in rally than F1 but that is to say an upgrade to 'won't work' from 'definitely won't work'.

Don't expect any news regarding WRC. They "like" to postpone everything about this sport.

About this idea of whatever number of events is not good. This only works in WRC2 and just because nobody there could do a whole season, it's damn too expensive. If that would be included in main WRC category, there would be instantly many Ogier's. Everybody would lobby for some events and probably 1 or two events would be completely ignored by everyone.

Didn’t they say or weren’t there rumours about an announcement regarding a new promoter on the eve of the Acropolis Rally or did they manage to drive the new promoter away already?

I'm sure there is no new promoter, its just trying to hype up by useless "business-PR" people in todays promoter/FIA.

If some of this "genius" people actually reading this forum, her is what you have to do:

Rally2's as topclass next 4 years while making a new direction how next generation WRC1's will be.

Give 30 mins round up tv-shows out for free to both streaming and regular TV-channels around the world.
You can't hide your product behind paywalls to get a fanbase.

Dont try to please todays team, several of them won't join anyway, and noone of them will go in the same direction.

Then, in 4 years time, you will have manufacturers joining the new regulation, because its actually a solid fanbase to show your brand for, good numbers from streaming/regular tv, the ROI will be aceptable for most interested manufacturers. Its like the hypercars in LeMans, it was quite dead some years ago, today its totalt different.

Or we could just face the truth and accept that wrc will be without manufacturers. They will just build the cars and private teams will compete. As likes of Toksport, Printsport, PH-Sport, 2C competition, M-Sport... I mean it wouldn't be that bad. And Rally2 prove every single rally that can witstand better every conditions, tyres, drivers...
