Who will be on top ?

I thought I would start a thread about the upcoming Jerez test, ( I logged in and swear that I saw tumbleweeds rolling past), as there is not much happening at the moment. Stoner was amazing in OZ, setting some blistering times, then, Rossi did the same in Malaysia, so, who will be the top gun in Jerez ? I will attempt to pick the top 5. In the past few years, we have had signature betting. If you are new to the forum, if you make a bet on who will be the fastest etc, you must use a signature that the other person has made for you to display. It is quite fun, so, I hope that someone will take me on. Type in your top 5, and if you want to bet me, tell me the signature that you wish me to display, should you beat me. good luck.

Has anyone, and by that I mean Dani or John mainly, been ruled out from participation?

I am still waiting for news about this. Dani has been quoted as saying that he is halving his recovery time in order to be there. As for Hoppa, no news as yet, though I think he will be there. If any rider misses the test in Jerez, they are not able to compete for the BMW prize for qualifying at seasons end, so I would think that would be motive for them both to be there.

I read that Hopper will be fit, Dani not so much..

I have read on crash.net that Dani has been given the thumbs up to ride in Jerez. Obviously he won't be 100% fit, but he should be there. That should mean that we will have a full turn out for the testing.

Hang on John, do we need a second thread on Jerez? This is becoming confusing. I see in the MotoGP.com poll that most people expect Rossi to get it..when will they ever learn. Loris has won it before and he'll be aiming to impress on his new mount. I think he might do it, and I bet that Rossi wont.

You're entitled to your opinion Corny but I disagree. I think West deserves to be there as much as Guintoli, at least to prove one way or another if he is good enough to be there. He showed enough promise in his short stint last year to warrant a MotoGP ride this year. At the end of the day, you're not going to get ever racer in a field as championship contenders but this current field is as deep on talent as any I have ever seen.

Thought previously tech3 finalized white livery too. they might change their mind because there are too much white on the grid. I like gorgeous blue of Tech3, too much yellow on Edwards.

Here here Ninja! West is as deserving, if not moreso than Guintoli..He hasn't had an ideal start to the year, his operation clearly having a negative effect on his fitness.

But he is rumouredly working very hard to rememdy this. His performance in the BMW timed session (albeit under damp conditions) will do his confidence a world of good. And he can only get fitter, stronger and faster from here on out. All he needs to do is get more comfortable under dry conditions. (as odd as that may sound)

Watch out for him this year, he's up against a team-mate who's been in MotoGP for over seven years now, I think. I also think by the second half of the season, Ant will be giving Hopper a run for his money.

Time will tell, I just hope Ant gives it 110% and leaves nothing in the locker, I know he will..

He did very well in that wet test. He'll go ok this year most of his problems last year, wrong grid place etc.. won't happen again!! :)
