"ENTRY PERIOD OPENED FOR RALLY ARGENTINA 2008
The entries for the 28th edition of Rally Argentina 2008 to be run on March 27 to 30, organized by the Automovil Club Argentino, opened today, Monday January 28.
Córdoba will receive the best world rally drivers
The four manufacturers that take part in the World Championship: Citroën, Ford, Subaru and Suzuki will come to Argentina with their best weapons to run this traditional event that this year appears as the fourth round in the calendar.
Citroën, winner of the last four editions, will try to defend its domain in the Cordobese “sierras” through Sébastien Loeb, who records a hat trick of victories in this land. While Ford will come with its three teams: BP-Ford Abu Dhabi, Stobart and Munchi`s Ford WRT, the last with the Argentines Federico Villagra and Luis Pérez Companc on board its two Focus WRC. Subaru will try to regain its prominence in the World Championship, whilst Suzuki will step on Argentine soil for the first time to show its bright SX4 WRC.
The presence of private structures, such as the Citroën Xsara of Conrad Rautenbach, will complete the world rally cars parade for the joy of the public in a weekend full of adrenaline.
Production WRC: another assured show
23 drivers will arrive in Argentina to run the second round of the World Rally Championship for Production Cars. Furthermore, the Automóvil Club Argentino, as National Sporting Authority, can nominate two national “guest drivers” to run in the Production Category being eligible to score points in this category.
All of them, plus the numerous group of Argentine and South American competitors that will gather, will perform a passionate battle in this new edition of Rally Argentina.
