Just wondering what is the longest stage, how long, and what game is it in?

I reckon that it could be one on the good old Network Q RAC Rally Championship game. It had the full Rally GB including some stages that took over half an hour, even in a 200mph+ Escort Cosworth ;)

Blimey, yeah, I'd forgotten about that - my brother had that game. Pundershaw 35miles I think.
I was talking about console games though,...PS2, X-BOX, etc

Rallisport 2 for X Box has some stages which last over 8 minutes in Group B cars....

Best thing was on that game on the night stages I could win 'em by about 30 secs + in the Saxo!!!!!

On console games...WRC2 Greece has one stage that was a good 9 minutes or so even when you aced it.

Yeah, can't stop playing this game, like it more now than when it first came out. There are some decent length stages in it- Cosquin in Argentina is one, 15.3km I think.

WRC3 also has 2/3 very long stages, for sure 1 in Corsica and 1 in New Zealand :D

I remember one of the WRC games had a something like a 15k stage in Cyprus that took a really long time due to a load of hairpins, used to really enjoy that

I am almost sure it's in WRC3 ;)

Quite sure it is, although in WRC2 there is a long stage in most countries. The Argentinian long stage is quite twisty, but enjoyable.
Must admit I really enjoy these long stages, you can get into a rhythm. And even better when you post a quick time. WRC4 & 5 stages weren't as long, if I remember the developers didn't think long stages were suitable for the mainstream, pah!!!

One of the games was based around the 1993 Network Q RAC Rally, featuring the Lancia Delta, Toyota Celical GT4, Mitsubishi Lancer, Ford Escort Cosworth, and the Subaru Imprezza 555.

The next one was based around the 1995 Network Q RAC Rally, which features the cars you mention.

They later made a similiar game based around the 1999 British Rally Championship, featuring all the F2 cars of the time (and it included in the game the 1600cc Saxo)

The last one was just called Rally Championship or Mobil 1 Rally Championship, and this was probably the best game ever made for stages, if the game was made say 4 years later, the handling and graphics would've made this game an absolute killer! Someone should do an updated version of the same game, with the same cars and stages :D

The old Network Q was a decent game.

It would have been better if WRC3/4 had more long stages. That way the stages are less familiar and good for getting lost lol.

I want a decent WRC game for the PS3 and i don't see one soon. It could be because there aren't enough factory teams in WRC anymore.

Yeah I'd love to see that! If I remember correctly the Pirelli Rally in that game didn't have one of the 6 stages at less than 15km!

I remember the Scottish rally on that game, 4 short-ish stages (+/- 5 to 7min each) followed by those 2 real bitch long stages in the end (+/- 20 and 25km each)! Keeping the car in one piece on that rally was a real mission - I remember finishing the one time in a Vauxhall Astra on 3 wheels!

That was probably the biggest challenge about that game, it was easy to pull out a lead but the stages were long, tricky and the cars were fragile to say the least.

I used to love those tarmac stages on the Jim Clark and Ulster rallies - fast stuff with sudden dirt patches to get your attention in a big way! :D

Just a thought - Rally Championship cars and stages/distances, with RBR physics - you would be finished after that one!

I think that's probably the main reason. Let's see; Citroen, Subaru, Suzuki, Ford gives us at least 12-14 cars, drivers including the semi works Ford teams. Is that enough for a game. I presume the contract with Evolution studios has ended. Just imagine the graphics on a PS3...., but long stages are a must.

Now that would be awesome! I've seen some CMR stages ported into the PC version of RBR so it could happen in the future.
