It's surprising what you can do with a bank account number and address and no have to sign anything. Mobile phones are a common one you can take out a contract entirely online.

As has just been pointed out on The News Quiz on Radio 4, surely this proves once and for all that many of Clarkson's opinions are 'unencumbered by fact'?

I find that I like reading Jeremy Clarkson because, even though I disagree with about 60% of what he says, it's quite clear that he thinks about most of what he says, and when he's proven wrong he admits it.
