Telecom

I bought a new prepaid mobile and rang Telecom to programme the new phone with my old number and visa versa. This would take 24 hours I was told. Not true! It's going to take 40+ hours, something to do with it being Xmas which Telecom should have anticipated, but apparently they have waited until there is a backlog of work and unhappy customers harassing customer service staff before getting additional staff. In the meantime I'm without a mobile :mad:

Only 48 hours?! Here it takes a week or more.

A week, Good lord! Anyway I rang again after 40 hours and the customer service guy said "that's been way too long, something's not right" and within 10 min he had it sorted. I guess the lesson is to keep ringing until you get someone who knows what they are doing.
