Every year since 2003 I've organised a social go-karting event here in Melbourne on the Wednesday night before the start of the Australian Formula One Grand Prix.

You’re invited to Race at the annual “Grand Prix Go-Kart Challenge”

DATE: Wednesday 12 March 2008
TIME: 6:30pm – 8:30pm
VENUE: Ace Karts, 20 Carrington Dve, Sunshine (Melbourne).

THE GT FORMAT (95 laps)
(2 hours worth of adrenalin pumping racing)
• Registration (by 6:00pm)
• Driver training & safety briefing
• Practice & Qualifying (10 min)
• Race #1 (15 min)
• Break (10 min)
• Race #2 (15 min)
• Break (10 min)
• Race #3 (15 min)
• Presentation Function

COST: $130 (Pay on the Night) which includes:
($120 for GT Format (95 laps) + $10 for Prizes and Softdrinks)
• Ace Karts Membership
• Hire of Superkart (9hp, 6,200rpm, 75kmh, Honda 4 stroke)
• All Race Results Timesheets
• Hire of Race Suit, Balaclava, and Helmet
• Trophies, Prizes, and Certificates
• BYO Alcohol (Softdrinks provided)
• Bring a Plate or Bag of Nibblies for Presentation Function

DRIVER LIST: Maximum of 22 (Novices Welcome)
NOTE: Alcohol is not to be consumed until racing is completed.

Planning a trip to Australia this year again...guess WRC Mexico goes down the drain :)

There's no deadline Magnus, it's just a "first in, first served" basis. So at the moment there are 3 driver places left in the to be confirmed list. Once those places are filled (confirmed), then nominations will go into the Reserve list.

Having said that though. Seeing as your traveling all the way from Europe to visit Down Under, if all places were filled I'm sure that my brother, Ziggy, would step aside and offer you his spot, as he is old and prefers to watch the action and drink beer from the comfort of a lounge chair.

I'm about to start my karting in a few months with a CRG Rotax :)
