Tanzanian rally driver Khalid Bakhressa died on Sunday in an accident during the Rally of Zanzibar.
Written by Peter Whitten Tuesday, 18 December 2007
Bakhressa was driving a Subaru Impreza when it rolled six times on a straight piece of road, while trying to avoid hitting children crossing the road.
Bakressa’s co-driver, Moses Motovu, was hospitalised with serious injuries.
The 24-year-old budding driver was in his first season in rallying, but was planning on contesting the full championship in 2008.
The Rally of Zanzibar was the final round of the Tanzania Rally Championship. unquote
There seems to be differing opinions as to the injuries suffered by the co-driver, Uganda's Moses Matovu, let's hope this account is true.
