Third rally for dutch crew

It is only the third Championship for 'FC' and the whole dutch crew, but the scored allready a 4th and 5th place. "We are happy with the points allready collected, alltough we want more in Ireland." FocusChampion says.

The last round in this Championship is a rally the crew do often. "We drive this rally in clubrallies, for entertainment, I know this rally good, but... I hate it too! This is not a rally we looking forward and enjoy. Its wet, muddy and slippery." We hope we can score points her. When we finished the same postions we had earlier this year, we do it very good!"

The team looking Forward to 2008. They do at least the European rounds.

I will be participating in this last round for sure. I will try to put a good performance and drive as fast as possible in each stage, since my 5th place in the championship is secured and I need only 7 point to become BRC champion. Therefore, my priority will be to make some Top 3 stage times.

I've just changed my mind, my goal will be to survive this rally. I just run a couple of times the shakedown, and I can say that there are some awfully slippery roads. I did something like 2.27 on the shakedown. Not good.

are you on PS or on PC? If you use the PC version you could install a NOCD patch, you won't need the disc anymore afterwards...

Rub it with some automotive polishing compound and remove the scratches (it works)

Next time the shakedown should be held in the rain, my setup was useless. :D Already at the first 90 right I had a narrow escape when I noticed that late braking was not the best idea on those muddy stages. I then changed my driving a bit and it actually went better then during the shakedown (apart from the stormy weather). Stage two was decent, for the first time I succeeded in taking the last corner flat out without crashing off. Stage 6 was the usual disaster, I hate it. The rest went fine. Day 2 then, early braking this time and no scary moments untill the night stage came along. First I missed my braking point at the hairpin and then I parked the car against a tree.

Plans for next year: no idea. :D

I hate the UK round. Too many trees and WET!
DAy 1:
Too wet, wrong tyres and too many trees! We just went too cautious today and stuffed it. BUT we did set some good PB's as well. We'll see how day 2 goes, hopefully better.

Cyborg finished Rally Wales!

FOG, i haven't seen fog in the game for ages :)
I had 3 stages in fog, ca 6 stages in rain, i met 3 times a tree, but i enjoyed the rally.
I hope the last rally this year will bring a close battle.

Good Luck to everyone!

I have just finished the rally.

Day 1 was pretty good, no problems, except one crash in the stage that I hate most, stage 8. I set some PB during the day.
Day 2 was a different story. No major impacts, but I didn't find a good rhythm, so it was slightly slower than day 1.
But it was a nice end to the season, I need a lot of practice during the break.
Thank you all for the exciting season!!

Marcel finishes rally GB

this was again a great rally, we just love these stages, they are so technically demanding, it's a big challenge to get them right. We had some good stages and some bad ones, but overall we are with our results. The weather was sometimes difficult with pretty much fog, but luckily we know these routes very well. We would like to thank subaru for this great year, the car wasn't always as perfect, but at least we had a lot of fun.

I am evil Homer
5th December 2007, 09:04
Completed the rally - no major problems to report. Ran wide on a few tighter bends during slightly wetter stages but I know these roads very well so the fog during day 2 wasn't really an issue.

I'm hoping we can improve on the last result in our home event but we'll see. Now the event has passed it's time to move on to winter testing with the Stobart team and hopefully pick up a full-time drive with them next season

Wales Rally GB was a most difficult one for us. Without shakedown just improving setup during the race. Day1 was in quiet tempo, but some light crashes were done in the afternoon. We were focused on good result in day2, but it was a desaster. Stormy a foggy weather all the day, except stadion stage crossed our plans. Anyway, we are pleased to join a few rallies this season and we look forward to next year. Probably Skoda will not be able to support us with a new car, so the Ford Focus should be in our hands. Our new car will be presented soon.

5th December 2007, 10:45
Day 2:
Wet, wet, wet again! And didnt it slow us down. Too bloody slippy on mud, gravel and everything else! We hit just about everything, posts, hay bales, trees, walls and the roundabout!
Nah just a crap weekend we tried to set PB's, but the harder we went, the worse it got. I think management have had enough of our wrecking and we have not had an invite to the end of year party. So I think we will be looking elsewhere next year. Sorry Ford, it's been a tough year...

Any body willing to share setups?

I used default settings for gearbox, suspension, and drive ratio, -3 for brake bias, and +3 for steering (I'm on a PS1 with a wingpad)

cyborg_hun
5th December 2007, 20:02
Sure! :)

Gearbox 1 to short, or 0
Suspension 3 to soft
Gear Ratio 1 or 2 to front wheel
Brake 1 to front
Brake ratio 0
Steerig 2 to high

Computer, keyboard, auto transmission

Juha
5th December 2007, 20:56
Gear Ratio 1 or 2 to front wheel
Brake 1 to front

I have 0 for the power ratio on the first stages. Some corners are so tight the car doesn't turn a lot at low speed so I don't want to ad another bit of understeer. It's fine on the later stages though. My brake bias is usually biased at the rear, goes nicely sideways under braking and helps me cornering in the sharp stuff.

UKOG~Will
5th December 2007, 21:28
I usually knock my gearbox down a notch toward the short end, put the suspension a little harder for the gravel and tarmac, and the Brake Bias and Power Ratio toward the rear to kick the back end out a little, and have the steering and everything else the same. Well, that's the setup I used in the Colin McRae Tribute Rally. :)

I have used 0 for the gearbox (-1 for the SSS) and -4 for the mud stages and -3 for the gravel. For the power ratio I use -1 on the mud and +1 for gravel. brake ratio -1, as Juha says to be able to throw it around a corner using the brakes. brake power +2 and steering +5.

I am on PC using a steering wheel and manual shifting

NOR
6th December 2007, 10:08
My setup for Wales rally was: Gear 0 or -1, Suspension hard2, Power ratio front3, Brake ratio front2 (which allows me select normal brake-front, handbrake-rear), Brake power +4, Steering +3. Using laptop-keyboard with automatic gearshift, left hand breaking :p :
