The final Rd of the V8's has arrived. Phillip Island is the venue.....let's see if we can get a good turn out for the last event......rumour has it that Muz may make a return to racing after a long absence.....Here are the details for Qualifying:

QUALIFYING DETAILS:
*Free Set Ups for ALL drivers - no cheats or boosts allowed.
*Times must be posted on both Codies & this thread to be official.
*Qualifying ends this Saturday night, 1st Dec. 8p.m. Aussie time.
*Details for the race will go up Saturday evening after the Qualifyiing...approx 8.30p.m.
*Start your engines guys!!!!

I really like this circuit.... the GT practice round was my first time running on it.

I always thought of Bathurst as the Aussie Spa though...other that I LOVE Spa yet find Bathurst extremely frustrating.

Bathurst is kind like Spa combined with Surfer's Paradise or Long Beach :)

Anyway.....I was surprised to see that the NGT cars are faster that the Aussie V8 cars.

the Aussie V8's feel faster to me. I bet the Aussie V8's have more power but slower cornering.....

I did a short practice session and my best times was 1:08.40. This should be #1 time at Codies but sadly cheaters exist. CEO Bill Gates (XBOX) (United States of America) times are legit. He plays on Xbox. NEWKO THE-YOUNG-GUN (Australia) is also "clean". I know that he plays on PS2.

When i upgrade my PC, I dont change HDD, and when I install The Witcher, Oblivion and Test Drive Unlimited, there was no space on Toca. Besides Gothic 3 and Stalker waiting for instalation, so I don't know, when I play in toca again.

Real_Illusions makes a change of cars to Ford. Rumours are abound as to why he joined Ford after been with Holden for the past near 2 years. Some say Holden have paid Ford to have him after he beat Peter to 2nd in the last DTM race. If R_Illusions overtakes Peter in this race and Peter ends up crashing, Holden can then blame the fact that he is in a rival car..as we all know its a bit embarrasing having 2 of the same cars take each other out. Other rumours say its about money..although R_Illusions (speaking from his new house in hawii) said this is not the case, before he sped of in his new ferrari enzo. Although some people believe R_Illusions isn't in a ford..nor a holden..but a modified tank to blow the Fords to pieces and enable Peter take another championship, with R_Illusions acting like a frozen horse......uhhhh......trojan horse.

I did notice that my fast laps were comparable with last year's... figured that must mean you had to use default set-ups last year.

still, it suggests a decent round for me..and I was closer in qualifying that usual too - less than a second off the pace.

It's a shame that drivers like PiotrB, Sloma & Hollydog did not race the whole series...the result may have been different! I would like to thank everyone who participated in this series - I think it has been a very successful one. The 2008 V8 Supercar series will start in late February - the same time the actual series starts.....next year will be different...all Aussie tracks but using PRO- SIM mode...which means we will all start from scratch...it will be challenging but pro- sim is far more rewarding & demands more of the driver...I know some people won't like the idea but we need something fresh for the series to be successful again...CHEERS GUYS

I'm excited about the pro-sim series. It's a total rush. I feel sorry for the hand pad guys though - I think I read that pro-sim is a bitch on the hand pad.

DTM will still be regular sim though....... and there's tannat's GT series too.

wish the V8 cars could make a trip or two off the island though, but there's always 2009..... doesn't look like codies will have anything new out before then at best anyway.

Have to agree on this one, I tried Pro-sim in Adelaide for the first time ever yesterday and it is TOUGH!

I'll turn up in Adelaide and if my pace is miles off, I'll be giving the series a miss as I simply don't have the time to practice.

Great idea though, changing the rules around to keep things interesting!
