Can't wait for tomorrow !!!! :bounce:

The duel Loeb/Grönholm
Can Sordo and Duval fight with them ??
The pace of the new Suzuki WRC
The battle in JWRC between the Suzuki drivers and the french drivers(especially Bonato and Amourette driving both C2 S1600)
The Renault Clio R3 "Cup" :p :
The S2000 battle Tirabassi/Sola/Chossat
The "corsican GrN Challenge"
...

As many as interest points to follow on this event :D

I can't wait either! This is gonna be one of the bests rallyes this year, after NZ of course. It's a whole championship battle this weekend. It reminds me Corsica 04, when Märtin and Duval had that great fight all weekend on until Francois blew his engine. What a dogfight!

I'm also looking forward for the debut of the SX4, understanding that Bernardi is no Sèb Loeb and that the car is brand new. Despite it's pace, it's gonna be interesting to see it in action.

Go Marcus!!! :D Teach the li'l frenchman how it's done

Am I the only one to see the excessive height due to suspension settings of the Suzuki SX4 WRC? I mean, to me the car sits much higher along the road surface in comparison with C4, Focuses (both generations), and the others?
Someone to know of a reason for this? The car doesn't look like a tarmac specification at all to me...

Lalo
11th October 2007, 17:17
The car looks a bit higher than the others, that's true. But remember when the 06 spec Focus had it's debut on tarmac that had the same thing . Also, the roads in Corsica are a bit bumpy, and maybe "Monster" is just being cautious during pre-rally testing. I agree with you, the car is higher than other, but may have a reason.

I was just checking on the youtube videos of the SX4 tests and most of them have the car lower. I'm sure they were just testing some setups during shakedown.

pettersolberg29
11th October 2007, 17:36
Doesn't anyone think Petter can fight for this one?
I know the SD doesn't mean too much but with a bit of luck and consistency from the Impreza I can see a podium for him!

Lalo
11th October 2007, 17:45
Petter has many obstacles before achieving a podium:
_Sèb and Marcus are gonna be for sure in the podium,
_Sordo or Duval.. Hot fight for the remaining place in it,
_Mikko is getting better and better on tarmac,

Kinda hard :S

Naturally Helstar. I think that Loeb is probably the greatest driver ever. The problem is that he doesn´t set my heart on fire... I believe Loeb will win, but I hope that Marcus, as being the underdog, will cope with the pressure and manage to beat Loeb on a surface that he masters so skilfully.
If Loeb would be struggling this year, I would on the other hand be glad for him if he finally won. My opinions regarding who I hope will win has little or nothing to do with who is really the best out there... Once my idol was Rovanperä...that was a tough one... Not to mention how I felt it when Solberg made potatismos out of Mäkinen(in an unholy alliance with miss Fortuna but anyway)...

SS 2 will be start normally att 9u.46.
Again you can see that the french make a disorder of it, just like in Monte Carlo! Why they have 2 rallys on stupid locations? :(
The first SS of the Rallye Korsika does not take place. Problems with few wrongly parked spectator vehicles provided for the refusal of the 18.1 stage from Monti Rossu after Pila Canale. "I could see no problem, but forwards goes to security", meant Marcus Groenholm .

He has a five-year programe and is currently in his second with decent results (at least finishing in 10th or 11th sometimes, instead of retireing). Even Warmbold could learned someting in such a time..

Maybe Matt has what it takes, but it needs more time. Remember Hirvonen in his second year in the WRC (in Subaru)? It's too raw nowadays. Remember Argentina last year? His first points. Even if Companc wouldn't have had that stall during the start of the final SSS, he would have finished in a very decent possition.

Only M1 teams (=Citroen,BP-Ford and Subaru=6cars), can use 07-cars, rest must use 06-cars or older. That is rule by FIA (that´s why BP-AbuDhabi-Ford driver Al-Qassimi is also using 06-focus)

Maybe Matt has what it takes, but it needs more time. Remember Hirvonen in his second year in the WRC (in Subaru)? .

Hirvonen was complitely at different level in his second wrc-season compared to Matthew. Actually that could be said even about Hirvonen's first season versus Mathhew's second season.

It's interesting to see how will develope. How good driver can become with zero/mediocre skills but with great circumstances.
