Subaru To Not Enter Will Into French Rally

Subaru have announced today that British Rally Championship driver Will is not going to be driving in the French rally to save funds for the British rally later this year. The World Championship rookie took part in his first WC event last week in Spain, in a BRC-spec Impreza and fared badly, down the order on the WC drivers.

this totally different style of tarmac needs a slightly different setup as we used in Catalunya. After a couple of runs we got it right and even set a PB on the stage:
1 1m03.88s
2 1m04.86s
3 1m02.92s
4 1m02.62s
5 1m02.69s

setup used:
GB -1
SU +4
DR +1/+2
BB 0
BP +3
ST +5

Press Release: In a shocking move, Team Red Bull Ford has released driver Tannat from his team obligations for the Tour de Corse to drive the Suzuki WRC entry in its debut rally.

In a statement from M-sport boss Malcolm Wilson:

"We are happy to assist Suzuki in their initial run with their WRC entry. Tannat's successful Junior WRC career owes much to Suzuki, and this is one way he can repay them."

"Ford currently lies third for the manufacturers championship, and feels no pressure from the other entries. We are confident the loss of Tannat for a single rally will not affect our year-end placing."

When contacted Tannat had this to say:

"I look forward to hitting the stages in the Suzuki WRC this weekend. They were very good to me in my Junior WRC days, and I feel confident they have constructed a car capable of great things in the future. We will be cautious, as this is an excellent opportunity to gain performance data under true rally conditions."

I don't think so, Rat.
I spent the last two seasons behind the Pug in various forms ( 1 year Fabia, 1 year 307).

Not certain where I am headed for next year. May stick with Ford. How about you?

Wasted a great deal of the morning with an incorrect setup, and was getting quite frustrated actually:

1:13.88
1:11.63
1:12.08

Car was all over the place and difficult to point. Then we hybridized Marcel's settings with a bit of ours and became golden:

1:08.51
1:07.53

This stage is a bit atypical of the French stages (more Italy-like IMHO), but enjoyable nonetheless.

Did recce on stages 1-3 and set new PBs, or near PBs on every stage

Hoping for a podium, and perhaps to rattle Cyborg Hun's cage a bit :D

I used ghost files from faster drivers on hotlaps.de to improve my driving. Just took a ghost which was 2s faster than me and tried to follow it. If you keep doing this you'll eventually get faster and faster. Unfortunately the hotlaps server is currently online, but I gues I could give you my ghost files as well. The car worked perfectly all weekend and the balance was very good. The car lacks some power but this leads normally in smoother driving and doesn't cost a lot of time. Hi, you made a very nice car. Did you use white template from cmr.110mb.com ?

Thanks!!

The Focus template found on cmr.110mb.com is a re-color of a skin made by http://kazhol.superhost.pl, so the quality is not 100%!

I have the original white Focus skin from Kazol Team Design (amazing quality), and that is what I have used for my car.

How I should work with the .jpg file, just save it as .dds?

First of all, did you figure out how to extract and re-pack the Focus ´01 file found in the Colin McRae Rally 2 > Game > Cars Folder?

The file you need is called foca1.bfl and that contains the 41 file files used to make the skin.

Once you have edited the .jpg that you have, you'll need to re-pack it into the foca1.bfl file..

Do ask away if you have more questions!

I never use the .jpg format, as it is very lossy, it will only get worse for each time you save the file, and it doesn't support Layers.

.psd is the main format for me

Sure, PM me your email address!
Btw I have made a new thread for CMR2 editing here:

You can find my address with the left mouse button click on my nickname. There are options for send PM or email as well.
New thread is very useful, great. I have never modified skins myself, so it is time to try it  .

If I can I'll attempt a OMV Peugeot from the 2006, so I can help with the mod, is it difficult ?? ;)

Well I tried to compete but on Day 2 (ss10) my PS2 froze completely and thus it was a DNF with just one stage to go :(

I say assign Homer a time that maintains his overall position finish-wise according to the results up to the completion of stage 9 on day 2.

Got to get my times in first!!! I'll take the slowest time maybe? or average time..isn't that what they do in WRC.

Despite this set back I will continue with the Skoda for 2007 and then assess the 08 options in full.

Don't they have average time + 5minutes in Superrally anyway :D LMAO

I am sorry, I won't be able to do this really. I have pretty tough exams next week. Lately I have been living in the uni's library, literaly, so I am quite tired when I get home and probably won't do a decent rally anyway.

you will get super-rally nominal times, wich is on a short stage +30 secs of the fastest time.

but to do that I need your times first!

Does using specially moded cars give you any advantage/performance change?

Will L
20th October 2007, 12:54
No, they keep the orginal car's physics, but they are just basically re-painted or the model is edited. No performance change anyway ;)

Shouldn't Juha, NOR ans IAEH, have their results posted by themselves in the Privateer championship?

Nope, all drivers wheter they are works or privateers compete in the drivers championship, what privateers can't is score manufacturers points.
We used to have a privateers championship but it was dropped last year

On the download listings, there's a link just to the right, saying "Preview"

Or if you click a download, there's a link down a bit too.

jso1985

stage-by-stage results are no available at the yahoo group, here's some rally stats:

- Stage wins: Marcel Haenen 18
- Rally leaders: SS1-SS18: Marcel Haenen
- A rally without almost any fight for positions, after Juha took 4th place from Jso1985 on SS4, all drivers held their places until the end of the rally
