Formula One drivers that have been in the WRC?

I can only think of one myself and that's Stephane Sarrazin. I think Geoff Rees (???) was in the WRC.

Who else has done both?

When did the WRC officially start? Long ago many F1 drivers ran in the major rallies. One Stirling Moss was a top notch rally driver.

Derek Bell did two RAC Rallies for Vauxhall, in 1987 and '88.

Tiff Needell tried his hand at the RAC Rally in 1992 and '96.

Vic Elford was a rallying regular (and Monte Carlo winner amongst other events) before the WRC came into being. He then did the Safari twice, in 1982 and '83.

I'm sure there are some others.

1979 was the first official FIA Drivers' World Championship.

Carlos Reutemann drove the Argentinean rally in either 1980 or 1981. He finished third, by the way.

67 I think. Vic Elford had a number of big wins including the 68 Monte at about the same time.

Before the WRC started, though.

Graham Hill drove in the 1967 RAC as well as Jim Clark.

The first World Drivers' Champion was Bjorn Waldegard in 1979. In 1977 and '78, there was no World Championship for Drivers, but there was the FIA Cup for Rally Drivers. Thus, neither Munari in 1977 nor Markku Alen in 1978 were proper World Champions.

Finished 3rd in '86 too.

Also, I thought Jim Clark almost won the 1964 RAC, or did he also compete in the '67 rally?

It was 1966, in fact, when Clark and Hill drove in the RAC. Apologies for the error.

Clark didn't nearly win, but he did set several fastest stage times before his retirement.

Thanks for that.

Oh, and for some reason I forgot Derek Warwick on the RAC Rally in 1990. He was rather impressive in a works Subaru Legacy.

Didn't Brundell drive in the RAC sometime in the 90s? I seem to vaguely remember him driving a Celica?

Ah, you mean Martin Brundle, who had two goes — once in an Escort Cosworth, then again in a works Toyota Corolla WRC. Forgot him too.
