After all the McLaren and Ferrari stuff I'm sure I read somewhere earlier in the year that I think it was Torro Rosso were complaining that Spyker (I think) had got confidential documents that "proved" that the new TR was last years RB...

Was I imagining this as I'm sure it seemed to be brushed under the carpet??

I think the issue you mean is to do with customer cars. Spyker protested (http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/57405) Super Aguri at the Australian GP after the debate over customer car/constructor had rolled on over the winter.

Both Toro Rosso (Red Bull) and Super Aguri (Honda) were/are alleged to be using a 'customer car' from another team when they should be constructing their own. The regs are (apparently/maybe) going to change in 2008 to allow customer cars.

The documents that Spyker got hold of belonged to Red Bull:

Red Bull Racing intend to investigate exactly how Spyker got hold of confidential design drawings of their car for use as evidence in a protest against Scuderia Toro Rosso in Malaysia.

This bit made me chuckle in the light of the McLaren/Ferrari case:

With the stewards deciding to not rule on Spyker's protest and leave the issue up to arbitration proceedings, the subject was ignored...
