Why is this on the news? Why did it even manage to make it to 'Look North' on BBC1 last night?

The man had an item of his property stolen. Of course he was offered councelling. He's a big burly bloke and can cope with such things, fine. What if it was a 90 year old lady who is petrified by kids coming in her garden and stealing her property, and the wheelie bin was the final straw? I think she may well need councelling and it's right that it should be offered.

It's the media that's being stupid here, not the police.
