With Busch going away at the end of the year--you'd think whoever is replacin them that they'd speak up by now.

Anybody heard anything lately?

I would think it will be announced with next year's schedule announcement, which should happen late Aug-mid Sept.

As poor as WalMart is ethically, they bring HHHHHHHHHUUUUUUGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEE money to the table. Plus significant NASCAR exposure in their 1 billion stores across the US and Canada.

There will be Smileys in firesuits everywhere!

(Who knew I would be seeing how good the policy was this year ...) :s

yep, in 2-3 years Nationwide will bail out just like what Nextel-Sprint will do soon,

Nascar should've just kept Winston, but that died along with Nascar after we lost Earnhardt in 01

Nascar should've just kept Winston,

It was Winston's decision to leave. NASCAR had nothing to do with it.

Winston left because of the ban on tobacco advertising.
(Too bad they didn't take notes from Marlboro with Team Penske & Ferrari and thumb their nose at ban)

My only question is how does the Geico situation affect the career and future of Warren Wallace?

I know, those are the only good Nascar commercials, every other is a complete joke

I still don't understand the ban, ok smoking can CAUSE cancer, but Alcohol also kills 1000's of people everyday also from AP or drunk driving, so why don't they get banned, also I think I'd rather see a cigarette commercial now these days instead of these disgusting Levitra and Viagra sex commercials

It was the flavor of the day back in the 90's. Go after the evil tobacco companies! Just like global warming is the flavor today.

I'm not sure it was a total ban on tobacco products, but they were limited in sports sponsorships. RJ Reynolds pulled out of NASCAR mostly because of financial reasons in 2003. At the time of the settlement (1998, I think?), they had to either give up the series title sponsorship or their sponsorship of Travis Carter's #23 car, which Jimmy Spencer was the driver.

i was hoping that Kentucky Fried Chicken would've stepped up and sponsored this series. In addition to the Sprint Cup and the Craftsman Toolbox, the drivers could've raced for the KFC Bucket. :rotflmao:
