So long, old forum. Strike another match, go start anew
And it's all over now, Baby Blue. In the memory of the old forum, I'd like to sing this song by Bob Dylan:
"You must leave now, take what you need, you think will last.
But whatever you wish to keep, you better grab it fast.
Yonder stands your orphan with his gun,
Crying like a fire in the sun.
Look out the saints are comin' through
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.
The highway is for gamblers, better use your sense.
Take what you have gathered from coincidence.
The empty-handed painter from your streets
Is drawing crazy patterns on your sheets.
This sky, too, is folding under you
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.
All your seasick sailors, they are rowing home.
All your reindeer armies, are all going home.
The lover who just walked out your door
Has taken all his blankets from the floor.
The carpet, too, is moving under you
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.
Leave your stepping stones behind, something calls for you.
Forget the dead you've left, they will not follow you.
The vagabond who's rapping at your door
Is standing in the clothes that you once wore.
Strike another match, go start anew
And it's all over now, Baby Blue."

The "old forum" served us well.
It was home to many laughs & some heated battles.
We shared the highs & lows of racing along with a bit of our private lives.
I surmise that a forum is the sum of it's members.
As everyone finds their way back, the fun will continue in a new package. :D

Eye, 'twas a good one and a half years for me and the beloved forum. I thought I'd give you a little song recital... Here we go!
The old forum, always there
When you wanted to say something
That was just and fair (or if you're schmenke, an innuendo will do)
Motorsport, football, cats and phones
It was all there
Except for a thread about bones...
Insults would fly
Rolleyes smileys would come by the bucket full
But they'd kiss and make up, even though they ended up arguing again in the next religious topic, why? :p
So, in conclusion I have this to say
The old forum we will miss
But bring on the new day
Of VB... :D
Thank you and goodnight!
(I want some good reputation for that post, please :p )

I must say I far prefered the old forum setup. This one is just far too...common :(

The old forum was common when it was first installed. The only reason it wasn't common now is because it was, well, old :p

Out with the old, in with the new. Presumably the archived threads have now all been deleted, which means there is no evidence that I've ever posted anything stupid. Hurrah!

I was just going to say that!
With a ratio of 10:1 in favour of posts that were intelectually non-existant it wasn't looking god for me!
I miss the old yellow/blue format which is was the forums trademark colour scheme but although the format is more basic new stuff has been added which brings it more in-line with other messageboards.

It'll take a while to get used to the new feel of this forum. Credit's due to Mark who kept improving the old software to make it better all the time.
