Yes, That's it. It was posted on another forum and I just liked it. Someone else noted that it was fresh off driving a '57 Chevy to a sportsman class win, and he's wearing an Indy 500 T-shirt from that era.

That was my guess too, before I saw the answer.

Talking about being ancient - just discovered the Junior show Back in the Day - great stuff. Shame there's a little too much Jr and not more racing, but the balance is not too bad. And the bloopers at the end show he is no presenter, very honest.
Does anyone know, were these half hour programmes shown after a race, or was it live, or what?
And I don't mean Back in the Day - I mean the show Back in the Day is based on, if you see what I mean.
:D

They were originally half hour syndicated shows on auto racing hosted by Bud Lindemann called Car and Track.

Here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Car_and_Track/)is some info from Wikipedia.

I love the campy stuff. I remember watching a Petty pit stop where they handed him a cigarette on a stick into the cockpit, while refueling the car none the less.

And another where they showed the gasman unscrewing the GAS CAP on the car! Brilliant!
