I thought I heard earlier this year that Bud/Busch was pulling out of sponsorship for the Busch series. Does anyone have any information on this?

There's been no announcement yet that I've seen regarding a new series sponsor.

The contract expires after this year and NASCAR decided to go with someone else rather than stick with Busch.

Rumors are Wal-Mart and Subway as front runners. Also, I remember reading that the Busch Series sponsorship is actually cheaper than sponsoring a top tier cup team, with significant exposure.

I think if they call it the "Subway Series" they might pick up some interest in Chicago & New York thinking it's about baseball playoffs ;-)

NASCAR didn't decide not to go with Busch anymore, Busch decided that after 26 years they were no longer getting enough return for their money. NASCAR is supposedly looking for a sponsor to shell out 30 million a year so sponsoring the series will not cost them less than a top tier Cup team's sponsorship. WalMart, Samsung, Coke, and Subway have all been rumored at some point this season as being the new sponsor, but as far as I know nothing has been finalized so it's still anyone's guess as to who the new sponsor will be.
