An interesting idea for a thread, to share what we think are the best looking cars ever. My list in ascending order...

5) Jaguar XK8

4) Alfa Romeo Spider - a black one of these with tan leather is enough to get me tremendously excited!

I'll disagree with most of that list :p

The XK8 - is very much a "golf clubs in the boot" car for the grey haired balding gentleman.

The Alfa? Depends on which one it is :p You've put the new one in ;) Good stuff :) Tan leather is a no - no though!

XJ220 - Just not beautiful full stop. Sure it's powerful and fast but you can't simply say something's beautiful because it's fast ;)

DB7 - Hasn't aged well at all sadly and had classy touches like Mazda door handles and rear lights.

The E-type? Not my type of car but I suppose I can understand why people like them I guess

1 Aston Martin DB7 (Never liked the Vanquish, too clunky)
2 Aston Martin DB7 (still not keen on the Vanquish)
3 Aston Martin DB7 (that Vanquish still not doing it for me)
4 Aston Martin DB7 (leave the Vanquish to elderly spies)
5 Land Rover 90

Plain tastes I know, but frankly the Aston is prettier than Johnny Depp and the Landie is just more appealing than him.

If Jaguar was German then the cars wouldn't be elegant and stylish. They would be boxy and boring like Audi's and Volkswagens.

The British and the Italians know best about styling cars ;)

The British know nothing about styling and the Italians know best about styling cars ;)

I agree ;)

I'll agree with most of that list

The XK8 - stunning car, I love them.

The Alfa? Depends on which one it is :p You've put the new one in ;) Good stuff :) Tan leather is enough to give me a semi ;)

XJ220 - Just beautiful full stop. And it's powerful and fast. Jaguar designed the best car of the 1980's

DB7 - Has aged well and had classy touches like Mazda door handles and rear lights.

The E-type? My type of car, I can't understand why people don't like them.

We seem to be agreeing on most things Daniel ;)

The Sprite is actually the better car to drive, the 3000 MkIII is actually a bit of a pig, especially where the brakes are concerned, but just for pure looks, I think it's one of the prettiest cars ever made :)

The Frogeye, as depicted in you previous picture. I've never driver a standard Sprite but I have done so with both the others as some friends are collectors/enthusiasts.

Maybe I should put this on my list. I think that if I ever see one of these on the road I would have a trouser wetting moment :o

to put a Skyline on the top 5 list is ummmmm I hope a joke.....

My picks?

The 250 GTO Ferrari of the Mid Sixties.....
The Jaguar XKE (the nation that brought you the most beautiful fighter can also build a pretty car)
A 1938 Delahaye Drop head coupe...if you have seen one, you will know what I am talking about...
A 550 Marenello Ferrari....
BMW M1

How can a Nissan Skyline be beautiful?

All they did was design a very dull unimaginative boxy shape using only a ruler, then they stuck some magnets on and drove it through a furniture shop and collected a few metal shelves.

Moderater, please remove that image. It is making me very ill.
