Hi everybody, I had the chance to visit Monaco last Sunday. As expected, I walked the circuit and took many pictures. In case anyone is interested in what the circuit looks like on a normal Sunday, here you go:

It was a business trip, with a couple of days layover at Nice. The visit to Monaco was really pleasure, though ;) :D
I'm not really sure where the armco goes, particularly in the main straight. It was interesting to see that most curbs and poles to organize traffic were removable.

This was several flavours of tasty awesomeness on a stick :D
Is it possible to drive around the GP course now? When I was there about 7 years ago, you couldn't because several parts had one way restrictions but in the other direction.

I think it's possible to do it these days. I didn't pay a lot of attention because I was walking, but I cannot remember anywhere where you couldn't drive in the direction of the race. Of course, at some places you cannot do the exact trajectory the F1 car does (examples that come to mind are the Casino square and Noghes, where the path for street cars goes through the pit entrance).

It's an "auto picture", so it's fairly bad. To make it worse, the angle was decided by the place where I could put the camera. In any case, what's seen behind is the port and the Prince's palace :)

It's trivial. The Ferrari (or whatever modern car it is) is at Poitiers. Fangio's statue is at Noghes, at the beginning of the main straight.

Strange there just wandering across the road where F1 cars do over 100mph :D
Everyone should take a walk around the Monaco grand prix circuit. It's brilliant, and it's free!

That could have been a great photo of the Casino Mark :p :
Like Mark & tinchote I've 'done' the GP circuit at Monaco, and a highly recommended trip it is too. I've got a video somewhere of my "lap" around the track at very slow pace from 1994 (IIRC). I just remember thinking "how the hell do they race around here"
Even on a normal day it's an atmospheric place

You're so right :D But I was more thinking about the camera not falling than about smiling for the picture. My bad :)

A small tip for taking photograph, although it can result the better pics, try to avoid facing straightly to the sun for some smiling face :)

Oh I made sure to get that too!

There is more to the country than the Grand Prix circuit of course (but not much more :p ) The old town around the castle is lovely, and gives fantastic views. And I spotted Mika Hakkinen wandering around!
There's an Italian influence too ;)
