View Full Version : A Concert for ..... You!

Yesterday many of us had the misfortune to see some okay bands sandwiched between 'why I loved her' segments in a show that paid tribute to Diana, Princess of Wales. It was her 46th birthday party. I won't make light of her not even bothering to turn up, as I expect it's all been said before :mark:
Anyway, fighting off sleep part way through, I began to wonder which ten bands I would book for my partner's 46th party and who I'd liked booked for my own.
Anyone fancy listing their own ten and ten for another (any) forum member?

I'm just glad I missed almost all of the Diana concert. Car crash TV, I heard it described as, with no trace of irony.
Not just me who thought it was pants then? I thought it was just that I'd been spoiled after watching Glastonbury for the majority of the preceeding weekend.

Funny, I thought that, no cutting edge acts. Wouldn't do their credibility much good would it?

I am not up on the music of today as that area of music isn't really me. But for my 46th party concert (or for that matter ANY birthday) I would love to have 10 bands capable of singing certain favourite Queen songs and singing them well.
I thought McFly's "Don't Stop me Now" was good. And I remember the farcical ITV1 Queen tribute show hosted by Zoe Ball where the one great redo was Russell Watsons Who Wants to Live Forever. You may not agree but it certainly beat M People's Somebody To Love!
