BAM Racing may be looking for a new full-time driver, now that Mike Bliss has resigned from the team. Chad Chaffin has been named to drive the No. 49 Dodge at New Hampshire this weekend and at Chicagoland, while Larry Foyt will handle driving duties at Daytona.

Mike Bliss has been un-impressive in the Cup Series,
9 years, 81 races, 0 wins, 1 top 5, 5 top 10s, 0 poles ... so good-bye Mike http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/tongue-anim.gif

Mike Bliss hasn't done only a little better in the Busch Series,
9 years, 95 races, 1 win, 14 top 5s, 5 top 10s, 3 poles ... :dozey:

But in the Truck Series Mike Bliss really shines,
10 years, 181 races, 13 wins, 58 top 5s, 101 top 10s, 18 poles & the 2002 CTS Championship

Mike Bliss should STAY in the Truck Series because he can be successful THERE. http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/icon10.gif

Its a shame for Mike who hasn't ever had a fair crack at the cup series - few drivers would qualify the BAM ride very often. Narrowly missing the Daytona 500 put this team on the back foot and it hasn't recovered.
Mike has done a good job in Trucks and Busch and should focus on them for now.

mike bliss is 42 - too old for a good nextel cup team to want him
sponsors want drivers 20-30 cause that is their target age group

Yeah, if Bliss has quit, then Bliss has raced his last cup race.

though i believe Bliss to be a great talent, at this point of his career he's not going to get the opportunity. would've loved to see him get to run quality Cup stuff. Gibbs was his best chance, but it never panned out on the Cup side. would be wonderful if he commited full time to Trucks. Bliss always ran his best there. with the right team he could get another championship.

Larry Foyt? They might as well have asked Kerry Earnhardt to drive.

Well as much as Mike shines in CTS, he wouldn't be happy with what truck teams make.
