Pretty sure he was driving the Evo6 that I have recently bought - N5 FMS.

This is the same car that John Morgan owned but hired out to Jari Matti Latvala for his first few forays on the UK rally scene. JML was (and maybe still is?) a pupil of Pentti's.

I assume Pentti hired it for the event from John. I know Pentti retired on this occasion and that he was co-driven by Nigel Gardner.

:D I have not had a single person for my rally school from this forum. So to sell my rally and racing school is surely not my reason here! I am here because I thought that some forum members might benefit from my knowledge. I certaintly have learned a lot from this forum. 2003 Rally of Wales was disaster for me. Engine man changed maping in the morning of first day and I lost some 100 hp.Because other problem(drive saft) the team did not had time to remap and soon aternator failed because con rod decided to come out the block. Shall we call it like Italians an electrical problem! After that rally the engine blew 4 times in other events. But John Morgan's Fairfield team is very good.We had excellent suspension and the very best tyres. Pity.

how were you doing before problems occured? do you have any pictures of the car during the event?
only thing ive noticed with modern WRC as many probably have, compared to as little as 10yrs ago its BORING. go back to the days of the RAC and the rear wheel drive cars like the chevette and the escorts to name but a few, and it was less commercialised and more enjoyable I paid £20 per peson just to sit in the forest amongst the trees. what all that about? fair enough cardiff arena or margam, however i am pleased to hear they are reintroducing the night stages this year :)

ive started building a chevette hs replica (group 4) this year, once ive finised im going to do my licence and my aim is for the RAC this year.
although cant get build restrictions for the cars to know what engines i can use, any ideas anybody?

THanks for kind words boss!! Rally was a disaster & I hope Simon has better luck in the car.

I can honestly say that Pentti is the cleverest guy I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Not many guys can feel 1 click on a proflex in 300 yards!! Quite amazing for an old guy...... ;)

You should all go to his rallyschool - Look at the difference in pace between the british drivers and the young finns in the WRC!!

so do I !!

Out in the car on the Quinton Stages this coming weekend. Almost complete new engine in the car following a disaster with it on the Red Dragon. Fingers and everything else are crossed just now.
