that was pure BS last night, plain and Simple.

I hope he does walk out of JGR after that stunt with Hamlin. Aric should've been in the car plain and simple

Yeah, i have no idea why Hamlin had to get in the car. No points for Hamlin. That was a stupid decision by Gibbs Racing

I felt so bad for that kid. He did such a good job. JGR owes him big time.

I hear it was a sponsor decision.

it still was very wrong on all counts, you've got an up and coming driver with everything to prove only to be yanked out of the seat while running 3rd and lead 43 of the first 60 laps.

Hamlin shouldn't even have been there

Yes, MRN was speculating that the decision came from corporate. (Rockwell Automation’s world headquarters is based in Milwaukee).

The #20 team told Aric over the radio after the race started that Denny was going over to drive the #66. And we all saw him walking down pit road and stopping at the #66 pit with all the tv cameras following along.

Wallace was feeling sick, but I’m guessing the reason he didn’t get out of the #66 is because up until that point, he hadn’t wrecked anybody. I’m thinking that’s his mission out there every week, and he did a good job of it later in the race.

My question is why do you pull a driver out of a third place car, a car that led a lot of laps, when nothing is wrong with driver or car and put yourself a lap down? I guessing the answer is you know NASCAR will throw a debris caution to help get your driver a lap back.

They had the safety crew picking up every tire marble out there, to give the affect to the fans that debris was out there. Nobody that was sitting by us bought it though.

I never really bought into the Kyle Busch/Jimmie Johnson winning at Lowe’s theory until last night. Then I’m thinking, man if I was AT&T, I’d be ticked that Nascar played favorites for another corporation on a race that I sponsored, but then figured maybe it’s Nascar trying to stick it to AT&T because of the lawsuits about the logo on the #31 cup car.

Oh, I still don't think the outcome of the race was dictated by that debris caution. Denny needed a little luck too, like Carl Edwards cutting a tire and never really giving Denny a challange and the wreck with 7 laps to go that helped Denny catch up with Leffler and Wimmer.

I was impressed with Aric Almirola, he showed what he could do in a good car. http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g202/gr8link/thum/1u.gif
It was total BS that Aric had to get out of the car to let Denny Hamlin take over ! http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/icon8.gif
Rockwell Automotive & Joe Gibbs Racing can KMA for making such a terrible call ! http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/icon8.gif

I hope a big team makes Aric Almirola an offer & he walks ! http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/tongue-anim.gif

If he doesn't make too big an issue of it, he may end up in the #18 cup car next year.

This is the second year in a row the #20 car was the fastest car on the track at Milwaukee. Last year, Denny had to start the race at the back after Aric put it on the pole, and finished 2nd.

That's where my mind was headed. I like Yeley but I think his days are numbered.

I think although he must be miffed about having to get out of the 20,it could be a case of dont be mad,get even.If he gets the 18 drive next year then he would get the chance to out drive Denny Hamlin?

According to Jayski the latest rumour is Almirola will go the #01 alongside Mark Martin, Regan Smith will move into the #14 and Sterling Marlin will go part-time in a second Furniture-Row Racing car. I desperately hope the last bit is not true - Sterling deserves better.
As for the Joe Gibbs situation on Saturday it was a shame to see Almirola taken out of the car but had they kept him in it they may not have been celebrating a victory.

This is just further proof that the Bush series is no longer a developmental series and is Cup lite for sponsors who can't pony up the NEXTEL (Now Sprint I guess) bucks.

This is also why I've stopped watching Bush and started watching Trucks.

Rockwell Automation got what they wanted. If Tony Stewart would have shown up, I'd bet two bits that they would have asked for him to be in the car and not Denny.

He has a contract with Gibbs. You do what they say or quit. Quitting would not be too smart IMHO. There are some rumors about him going to Ginn next year. If that happens then I say hope you do OK kid. On the other hand, getting the #18 with Gibbs would be a much better ride, again IMHO.

Anyone who thinks it was the wrong decision to pull Amerolla is CRAZY!!!!!

Eric Ammerolla is payed by Gibbs to do a job . Denny Hamlin is also payed by Mr. Gibbs to do a job . Both drivers play a roll in the success of the company . Though Denny is young , he has payed his dues and earned his place as the higher ranked driver . His cup experience has proven this kid can drive . Besides all of this Rockwell payed to have Denny Hamlin NEXTEL Cup superhero in the car not Eric Ammawho ? You people forget the stupid mountian of cash it takes to make a race team race , it doesn't come from the sky ! Eric did a great job setting up and quallifying the car , thank you Mr. Ammerolla , now get out of the damn car , so Denny can win the race , which , by the way , he did !!!! Maby some day Eric can be the big dog tell then smile and take your paycheck to the bank .

I understand contractual obligations and such to the sponsors, but when a race has started, to slide Hamelin in just didn't make any sense. If the kid is good enough to qualify and start the car, let him finish.....

Mark I respect your opinion , but on this one your all wet . The Milwaukee Busch race here in Wisconsin is our Indy 500 . Those who think of the Busch series as a developmental series are also soggy. The fact is That Rockwell not only ponyed up the $$$ for sponsorship , and the big hospitality tent , they also had Denny flown in from California . Eric Ammarolla may be a good driver , but ther is no way he makes that sling shot pass around two cars , one of them Scott Wimmer ,a Wisconsin driver ( which I mention because WI drivers almost always win at The Mile ) to win the race . He was running third when they pulled him , Cousin Carl showed what a dominant driver in a dominant car does in clean air at that track , in other words , not fade to third . And for the last time Denny Won !!!!!! As for Ammarolla , some day he may have his shot at flying in and pulling some scrub from " his " car to win the race , but intell that day , suck it up buttercup ,and enjoy the fact that you do get payed to drive racecars .
