Evgeny Vertunov (RUS) in PCWRC 2007

Young Russian driver took part in Fiesta Sporting Trophy international in seasons 2006-2007. For the first time he'd started in WRC round on Subaru at rally Acropolis instead Alexander Dorossinski (Subaru Rally Team Russia). He reached the finish podium with rather good results for the first time in PCWRC, and his best "result" to be remembered on the rally is his jump... no - JUMP! at the 1st SS.

We met with Evgeny before his trip to Athens and after, so here is the first part of the interview:

One week after the Acropolis rally Evgeny took part in the 4th round of Russian Rally Championship in Karelia, where we've shown his "flying class". At the "White nights 2007" rally he took the 2nd place, and the decision was taken that in 2007 season Evgeny Vertunov will start in 3 rounds of PCWRC and 5 rounds of RusRC on Subaru for Uspensky Rally Technica rally team.

Why Dosic don't continue PCWRC? He is more expirienced (estonia and Finland) don't he.

Ive seen some videos from russian rallies, and the roads seem quite fast. they kind of give a taste o finland...

As far as I know, Alexander Dorossinsky refused to start in PCWRC this year because of his business time-table - he lives and works in Ekaterinburg.

By the way, Dosic won the Estonian Rally Championship in 2004 in N4 (N3 in Estonian classification).

Evgeny Novikov (E-ART racing team, Moscow, http://www.e-artteam.com) this year starts in Russian and Estonian Rally Championships. In Estonia he won the 1st round (rally Polva), in Russia - 3 rounds of 4, but even on the 1st round rally Ermak in winter he won at 27-km stage 54 sec from the 5-time Russian rally champion Andrey Zhigunov (Pro-Sport rally team, Moscow, http://www.pro-sportrally.ru)! Novikov at Ermak 2007 damaged rear wheel at the finish of SS4 and fall into snow, then he started the 2nd day with Superrally and won most of stages, but couldn't reach leaders of the rally.

Novikov is new Russian rally star and we make great hopes to him in WRC soon. His driving is exellent, Tommi Makinen looked at him, first on tests in Finland, then at rally Lahdenpohja 2007 (Karelia, Russia) and he found him very good, too. By the way, first, what Novikov did at Tommi Makinen school on trainings - he went the special stage with record time and oveturned training Subaru in finish line! Tommi was very surprised - nobody tried to drive in such manner and such speed on this road! They gave Novikov another car, much more powerful car, and they did all the test programm.

Actually i meant future plans- Why Schwarts was on winter rally? Just look or Red Bull?
Or plan depends on his age?

Red Bull, as I know. The team waits September 2007, the birthday of Evgeny, when he'll be 17 and it would be possible to make driving license :)
