Ford & Dodge usually do well at this track, but the fastest Ford is 12th, and Chevys make up 9 of the fastest 11.
What happened to Tony? His teamates are 1st & 7th he's 43rd on time. (I'm sure he had a problem, but what was it?)
Three Toyotas at 16-18 were the fastest of the non "top 35" cars, one from each stable, so whatever they've found is across the fleet. DJ missed the race by only .015 of a second.:-(

They also make up 20 of the top 49. Must be easy to win when you've got 41% of the drivers working for you.

I bet I'd win a lot more chess games if I got to start with 3 extra queens, 2 more rooks, 2 extra bishops, and another row of pawns.

The Chevrolet teams are just doing their homework well. The R07 engine they've been using this year has more power, and also sells "stock" in its fuel pump location in the fuel tank. If NASCAR allowed electric fuel pumps, then the R07 would be even better, since the Bowtie Brawlers are having fuel pumps in the tank, just like today's street Impalas, Fusions, Avengers, and Camrys all have them in the tank.

A lot of teams moved the fuel pump to the tank when they noticed it would prevent fires and reduce the risk of vapor lock.

;) Damn... U can't put an electric fuel pump in gas tank !!!

Waltrip commented a few races ago, might have been Charlotte when A.J. ran well, that Toyota had moved the powerband on the engines and they had found quite a bit of speed from that.

Not in high horsepower race cars, but it has its benefits in light street cars.

JJ has certainly had a fire lit under his ass... Top five in Charlotte, two weeks later, his first pole. Driving like a man who's career depends on it.
