Big weekend on the south coast of NSW with the annual State of Origin contest between NSW, Vic and ACT. Large field of 87 cars with 12 classics at the front of the field.
The Victorians have a very strong lineup headed by Justin Dowell in his EVO 7. The NSW team is headed by the Croker brothers 1st and 2nd on the road in their EVO 3's. ACT is headed by Richard Leitis in another EVO with Karl Willett in a Subaru WRX.
It will also be a faceoff for the Vic Excel series versus the NSW Excel series, with Glenn' The Fazz" Farrant from NSW going all out to beat Paul Batten from Vic.
There is going to be some display runs of a 240 RS and a Lancia 037 on Upper Cobargo Rd before the main field comes through, should be good for spectating.
Weather is going to be cold, hopefully we will get the full rally in unlike last year where we got flooded and snowed out.
I'll be sitting next to Gerald Schofield in the Cossack Hair Spray Escort.
I'll post photos Monday when I get back.
