Why am I hooked on The Eagle?

I normally have no patience with shows which are in a foreign language and I have to read the subtitles? So I just cannot understand why "The Eagle" is my all time favourite TV show. It is the only show that I classify as not to be missed, and I cheat by looking at the TV guide on Saturdays to see what the next episode is about.

And the bonus here is that it follows Inspector Rex. :)
