With all the talk of teams leaving WSBK there is also news of the BSB Airwaves Ducati team making the move to WSBK in 2008.

Obviously this is with the intention of fast tracking development of the 1098 (1198 if the rumour is correct).

Davide Tardozzi is supporting the move and talking up the professionalism and competitiveness of the team. Tardozzi potentially has a lot to gain from such a move.

I hope Darryl Healey can make this venture work, but with full factory support!

That would be terrific for WSB to add to a slightly shallow field in number. So long as BSB can get a suitable team to run the Ducati effort, then it could be good for BSB to free up some more factory spots for young riders with Lavilla and Haslam moving on.

Its interesting that Ducati want to move their team from BSB, it seemed like BSB was more willing to accommodate the 1198 than SBK.

airwaves going to SBK will be a big loss for BSB

If they go to WSB I wonder if we'll see Paul Bird switch back to Ducati as their main UK team

I hope this doesn't happen for two reasons;
a) weakening of the BSB series
b) probably Ducati World Superbike domination
