The sprint race is bound to be exciting. The main race would most likely be a snoozefest like China

I hope some magic can be found and we have a competitive race.

It would be interesting if Ferrari returned to form or if the Mercedes upgrade produced a sensation. Otherwise, have a pillow handy, you may need it.
A Lando win would certainly stir things up, don't you think?

Hopefully the new Sprint weekend format helps make for a stronger race. Since they can change the car between Sprint and the race, it's almost as if the Sprint is extended practice under race conditions. So more chance the teams can get it right on Sunday. And if the weather changes quite a lot between days, it gives them a chance to compensate and/or go with a radical setup based on what they already know from the Sprint.

The Miami race is a little more exciting. I was going to mow the lawn after the pits stop. Looks like it could be an exciting finish.

Verstappen is not able to make any ground up against Norris - is he sandbagging? Or is this going to be Norris's first win?

Hamilton is working his butt off in this race. Sainz is such a whiner.

Turned out to be an interesting race. Glad I decided to watch it. Too bad Logan went out. At least it was from racing hard and not his own mistake.

Lando gets his win, and well deserved. Though the VSC and SC might have played to his favor he had real pace, and from the SC restart made it stick even though he knew Max was waiting and hoping for a mistake or pace to fall off. Well done Lando!

Overall a very interesting weekend. It seemed that many of the cars had a narrow setup window, and even slight changes in track temp sent some times spiraling down in the qually sessions, as well as maybe making some drives tough through both the Sprint and the final race. Even more interesting to me was further proof that the new formula is allowing for very close racing, and cars could follow for many laps hoping for that chance of an overtake. I was shocked at how many cars had to fight for many laps to get past the car in front, especially once within DRS range. There were almost none of the "DRS flyby" type passes we have seen so often in the past races.

Both some shocking winners and losers over the weekend. Danny Ric has a great Sprint Qual and Sprint, only to go to no mans land for the race qual. Charles looked to have real pace to challenge Max, but in the end could do no better than stay in DRS range and hope for mistakes that never came. Checo came oh so close to being the loser of the race at the first corner, and seemed to struggle for much of the race after. Lewis bounced back from a bad Sprint to his highest finish of the season. Yuki takes anotehr 7th spot, and Alpine manage to get a car in the points, after them racing so tight it looked like they would take each other out (again).

Lando took his opportunity, created that 1+ second gap, and made it work.

And now we have two teams that have managed to take the first to RB this season. And this time it was without a failure for RB or either driver.

Lando Norris!
What a race.
I wonder if Max backed off once he wasn't close to catching Lando and was in no danger of losing second?

Nah, he was beaten fair and square. McLaren genuinely has the pace to give Redbull reason for concern. Ferrari is slipping backward as McLaren comes charging forward. Mercedes continues to be pathetic. And Aston sinks further into the belly of the Midfiields.

It was great for F1 to see another driver winning a race in this season which was beginning to look like a series of snoozefest. It was priceless to see Lando smiling with happiness and to see Zack Brown's expression at the winning moment. That is how F1 should be. Winning should be a very precious occasion. It should mean that much to cause the entire team to jump with joy.

That crash; though not his fault may be defining of his future. Williams needed him to finish that race for their marketing campaign in the US. His crashing in his home race was bad for business. I really don't think we would be in that car for the 2025 season. I even wonder if he would make it to the end of the season.

I hate to say, but I agree.
