As above, the first episode will be on the 28th of January 2007. Richard Hammond recently attended the Top Gear COTY ceremony and received a lego model of the jet car he crashed in. [Mods - feel free to move this to Transport, Driving and Cars if necessary]

I can't wait till the new show comes back on. My Life just isn't the same anymore.
I have resorted to watching fifth gear which is just rubbish basically. They have tried to imitate Top Gear, but they haven't pulled it off.

Fifth Gear is good but Top Gear is way better as it is more funny and entertaining.

I have resorted to watching classic Top Gear clips on websites such as YouTube and MySpace. Not as good as new material, but laugh out loud funny as well :D
Unfortunately in January I'll be back at uni with no TV signal :(

Yes, it was in one of the recent TG magazines, good to hear!
Also on the 23rd, on friday night with johnathon ross, he is doing his first t.v interview about the crash.

Good to hear, it feels like an eternity since we got to watch a new episode. Made so much better because first impressions of Hamster's crash made it sound like he might not have lived through it, let alone start presenting again.

I agree. I come from a country with practically no good motoring shows and I still wouldn't watch Fifth Gear!

If anyone's interested (or a Hammond fan!) BBC2 are reshowing Richard Hammond's Books for Boys programme again some time this week, originally shown on BBC4.
It was really entertaining :)

Hammond is also on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross this friday (as mentioned earlier by Scuderia Ferrari - will be interesting to hear what he remembers of the crash (if anything)

There was a letter on teletext saying the writer hoped Hammond and Ross wouldn't joke about the jet car accident.
Why shouldn't they? They're grown men who can joke about their own lives all they want. If people start moaning (especially before it's even said!) it's a sad, miserable world we're living in :(
Jeez, if they didn't joke I'd be worried :p :

It was already been joked about at the MPH show in Birmingham. I don't see any reason why they shouldn't talk/joke bout it.

Ross made plenty of jokes about it on the Comedy Awards last week - surely anyone who watches or listens to his shows knows what to expect.
But I'd still like to be a fly on the wall in the duty office...

Please tell me this series will be on BBC2 and not BBC 3?
(and on BBC 2 Wales at that)
